25.01.2022 Temporary Office Closure - COVID-19(Coronavirus) Due to the shutdown of all non-essential businesses across Victoria, our office will not be open to the public until the restrictions are lifted or amended. We are conscious of the importance of our work being essential for some of our clients to access assistance and accordingly we will still be working from home & will be contactable via email & phone for any concerns.... Our business is very well setup to be effective in such circumstances and we are confident we will be able to deliver our usual compliance and support services. 24.01.2022 SCAM Alert - Scammers claiming to be from your Accountants Office There is a new scam making the rounds in which scammers are calling claiming they are from the ATO and that you owe them money & that failure to pay immediately will result in your arrest. They then claim that they have already spoken to your accountant, who will call you shortly to confirm... This is where it gets tricky, they are masking their phone numbers so that your accountants phone number displays when ...they call you. They then pretend to be from the office & continue to insist that you owe the Tax Office money. Please know that a legitimate caller from the ATO will never threaten you with arrest or demand immediate payment. If in doubt hang up and call our office, or call the ATO directly on 1800 008 540 to check if the call was legitimate, or to report a scam. Never give out any personal details.

These guys are very inspiring and the main thing they want to achieve is building confidence for their members. Block and delete these messages when they come through Other scams at the moment are text messages saying that your parcel is ready for collection and to click on a link - DO NOT CLICK!... Always question anything that comes from an unknown source and remember the ATO will never contact you directly if you have a tax agent. If in doubt google current scams or check in with us we are more than happy to help.

While we are all excited and eager to get our 2021 Tax Returns started it is important to remember that your employer has until the 14th of July to finalise your income information. We need this information to complete your tax return, so if you are unsure if your income has been finalised, you can check with your employer, login to your mygov account or contact our office.
