24.01.2022 Over the past week many of our volunteers have sent or posted photos of their KOGO projects whilst waiting for restrictions to be lifted. Like @pamfergusson45 who shared these adorable baby pieces in today’s post. The speckled buttons definitely make the green pop. KOGO is fortunate to have volunteers from all over Australia, all with a shared goal - to help those experiencing hardship. If you, a family member or friend would like to get involved and help KOGO spread the warmth please share our registration page www.kogo.org.au/register #knitonegiveone #kogo #knittingforcharity #crochetingforcharity #knitforcharity #crochetforcharity #spreadthewarmth

19.01.2022 Special announcement to our wonderful volunteers. Cooler Autumn nights has seen an increase in demand for glovesand scarves. Our supplies of these hand-knitted items are running low for both adults and children. If you are thinking about what to knit next please consider these items to help KOGO keep up with demand from our community distribution partners to those in need. #knitonegiveone #kogo #knittingforcharity #crochetingforcharity #knitforcharity #crochetforcharity #spreadthewarmth

17.01.2022 Last Sunday our volunteers came together at The Social Knitwork. It was a wonderful morning where our new C.E.O Vicki Davis shared with our volunteers her background, thanked our knitting community for their continued support during lockdown and the future of KOGO. We were also fortunate to hear from Stacey Aslangul (CEO of St Kilda Gatehouse) and Niahm Condren (Volunteer Coordinator at the Royal Women's Hospital). They provided an insight into their organizations and how KOG...O donations assist them in caring for those in need. Our special guests were truly inspiring with many volunteers commenting that they are even more motivated to keep knitting to assist St.Kilda Gatehouse, Royal Women’s Hospital and our other 280 plus partner organizations. We hope you enjoy this message from Vicki. If you would like to find out more about @knitonegiveone or signup to our monthly newsletter please head to our website https://www.kogo.org.au #knitonegiveone #kogo #knittingforcharity #crochetingforcharity #knitforcharity #crochetforcharity #spreadthewarmth

16.01.2022 The silver lining of last year’s lockdown has been KOGO’s bumper start to 2021. The many hours spent by our dedicated and generous knitting and crocheting community has allowed to distribute thousands of garments and toys to those in need. Like the adorable toys in today’s post. We have sent 65%more items than at the end of March last year with the help of our Community Partner Organisations. This milestone has been made possible by the collective effort of all our volunteers - knitters, crocheters, drop-off points, unpackers, sorters, labelers and order processors. We are proud to be 100% volunteer run. #knitonegiveone #kogo #knittingforcharity #crochetingforcharity #knitforcharity #crochetforcharity #spreadthewarmth

16.01.2022 These adorable knitted toys have been beautifully crafted by @kerithc. You can’t help but smile when you see their cute faces. In addition to knitted garments for babies, children and adults KOGO also accepts knitted toys. In 2009 we started assembling baby gift packs to support new mums who are undergoing financial hardship and struggling to provide a stable family environment. These gift packs contain a hand knitted cot blanket, beanie, booties, baby jacket and small toy. These beautiful bears will be a wonderful addition to one of these packs. #knitonegiveone #kogo #knittingforcharity #crochetingforcharity #knitforcharity #crochetforcharity #spreadthewarmth

15.01.2022 A friendly reminder hat we are not able to have visitors at our Caulfield office until further notice. Any donations should be left at our drop off points listed on our website. www.kogo.org.au Thank you for your understanding

15.01.2022 Thank you to all our generous knitters & crocheters for the donations making their way to KOGO. We regularly get asked what we need and the answer is simple - items that will keep people warm. Blankets, gloves, scarves, beanies, socks and children’s jumpers. During times of financial hardship many people can’t afford utilities such as heating so let’s help people in our community stay warm this winter. #thankyou #knitonegiveone #itiscoldoutthere #spreadthewarmth #knittingforcharity #crochetforcharity #newwinterwoollies #kogo

03.01.2022 On the 23rd of February Darren from Melton City Council arrived at KOGO with a bus load of 72 bags of knitted items. This incredible delivery was the result of an ingenious project devised by Melton City Council to support as many senior community members as possible throughout the lockdown period last year giving them a sense of purpose, connectivity and community. This project involved 165 senior members. To read more about this heartwarming and rewarding project please see the full article featured in our March Newsletter. #knitonegiveone #kogo #knittingforcharity #crochetingforcharity #knitforcharity #crochetforcharity #spreadthewarmth

03.01.2022 It was a wonderful experience walking into KOGO’s office last week. Upon entering lots of bags and boxes lined the hallway. Once inside excited chatting was taking place. Conversations about how lockdown was experienced, new patterns tried and how many items had been crocheted. Our volunteers were full of energy as they worked tirelessly to unpack and distribute as many items as possible paying big compliments to the many knitting groups who had continued to knit & crochet despite the environment of uncertainty. A big thank-you to all our volunteers - not just the unpackers & distributors but also to those at home who continue to make and send beautiful items for those in need. Looking forward to another big week. #knitonegiveone #kogo #knittingforcharity #crochetingforcharity #knitforcharity #crochetforcharity #spreadthewarmth

02.01.2022 A big to all our volunteers who have been experiencing Stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne and Stage 3 in Regional Victoria. The cold snap in Victoria this week certainly reflected the mood of most. This is why we are posting this beautiful blanket that arrived just prior to lockdown. The colours are so vibrant and warming and hope they brighten up your day. At KOGO the conditions and current lockdown restrictions keep those in need front of mind. We are so grateful to our wonderful volunteers for their support during this period. Your kind words whilst also sharing your knitting and crocheting projects in preparation for us to open our doors reminds us of all those helping to spread the warmth. #knitonegiveone #kogo #knittingforcharity #crochetingforcharity #knitforcharity #crochetforcharity #spreadthewarmth
