22.01.2022 At our May meeting which will be held this month at Lawson the lovely Nell will be teaching us how to make these beautiful braclets. We will be learning the technique of making traditional Irish Crochet Clones Knots, and making a contemporary Clones Knot Bracelet. Materials: ... -Yarn (approx 50m, small ball), non-fuzzy, preferably cotton for beginners. Any weight, but a DK (8ply) or thicker will work up faster. (My samples were worked in 8 and 10ply) - Crochet hook suitable for yarn. - needle to sew in ends. See more

22.01.2022 All Knitters Guild meetings have been cancelled until further notice

20.01.2022 We’re back in business!! Saturday, April 17 we are back to normal for our Knitters Guild meeting!... This is wonderful news for all our members! There is no need to reply to this email, just come along to our meeting as per normal. However, it is important to sign into the meeting upon arrival. We also have our retailers resuming this month, and to kick us off we have The Wool Inn coming to visit. Hopefully in the coming months we will also look at starting up our workshops again. COVID guidelines are still in place, and we are taking every precaution in providing a safe environment for our members. For that reason, table seating will be limited to 6 people. Over the past few months, the meeting fee and raffle ticket purchases have been made online. From this month, you will be able to pay your meeting fee and purchase raffle tickets on the day. For those members who have paid in advance, Jan has you covered! Doors will open at 1:00pm and our meeting will conclude at 4:00pm. There will be equipment available to sanitise tables and chairs, as well as hand sanitiser. We are asking that members assist in table and chair set up and pack up. Afternoon Tea is still BYO at this stage. The minutes for last month’s meeting are attached. As well as some photos, just showing what we’ve been up to!! We are looking forward to catching up again, face to face! Cheers Elizabeth

13.01.2022 It’s only April but already the year is shaping up to be like no other. With drought, bushfires, floods, and now a global pandemic, 2020 has us all feeling a li...ttle bruised and disconnected from each other. This is a time when we need to support each other in whatever small ways we can, so we’re trying something a bit different for this year’s FibreFest project. This year, FibreFest doesn’t have a single pattern, instead we’re issuing a challenge to our community of creative makers to find ways to support our local communities. You could choose a pattern from a local designer, use yarn from a local dyer, spinner, or yarn store (or all of the above!). Whether your approach is to trawl the internet for something shiny and new, or dive into your stash for a skein that’s been waiting to become something wonderful, we want you to share what you’re making with the rest of the FibreFest community. Show off your yarn, the designers you’re loving, and the creative way you’re interpreting the theme. Use the #FibreFestProject2020 hashtag on your social media posts or jump into the Ravelry thread to talk about your ideas. Still stuck? We’ll be showing off the different ways members are interpreting the theme on our social media channels, there is sure to be something that sparks your creative instincts. Happy making everyone, stay connected, and we look forward to seeing the ways you’re thinking local with your #FibreFestProject2020
