12.01.2022 Abstract revisited. This painting has moved through these 3 stages and lots of semi stages in between. I'm loving having some fun with abstract with lots of inspiration from @tracyverdugo and @betty.franks.art. I've focussed so much on resin in the last 6 years I'd forgotten I actually started with abstract. I'm actually a huge fan of 'Mr squiggle' and love to look for and develop the images in the abstract, so probably not true abstract. I really wanted this one to be an ocean theme but it really wants to be flowers #fortheloveofart #obsessed #mrsquiggle

(on reclaimed board) Size: 80 x 60 x .8 Description: Created on reclaimed quality engineered wood products this... artwork comes unframed, ready to hang with paint and resin extended over the sides. The piece sits almost flush to the wall eliminating bulky external frames but may also be framed in a choice of modern frame types. It's signed on the front and back, with artwork details on the back and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. A glowing bed of deep water coral on the oceans edge is a springboard for hundreds of tiny fish darting out into the ocean creating a foaming wash of bubbles in their wake. There are many people with a true yearning in their hearts to see our coral reefs remain glowing islands of life within our oceans. They givemehope for a future that considers nature more valuable than convenience, the earth more precious than its resources and that we need our planet, it does not need us. 07.01.2022 Now the fun part. The resin holds it all together and adds unique elements. Its pretty random and these pieces went into my my home made resin 'cooker' looking like this but its an anxious waiting game to see how they come out. And that's apart from keeping the creepy crawlys and flying insects out. They seem to be attracted to the resin. 06.01.2022 5 paintings on the way. All have elements of plastic and are on reclaimed board. I save clean packaging from all sorts of things from the bags the onions come in to the wrapping on parcels. 05.01.2022 Pods and seed heads. I've been having some fun going a bit abstract but incorporating organic shapes for native plants, nuts and seed pods. I don't think these are quite finished. I think they need more curves. As usual there will be lots of layers. I started with a simple resin pour. 2nd coat was going to be alcohol inks but I discovered wonderful effects you can get with the inks. 3rd coat is collage and acrylic letting bits of previous layers shine through. I'll finish wit...h another coat of resin and work really hard to keep rhat coat simple .
