24.01.2022 When there is nothing but time!!! It is so easy to get stuck into life, creating what we think is the best life for ourselves. The lifestyle we wanted compared to the life we actually live is always a little different, with the choices we make. I used to say that I don't have any time any more to go hunting, camping or even just for a drive down the road to see what's out there. Unfortunately it took this covid 19 for me to realise that I had to make the choice to slow my lif...e down, to spend my life with the people I love. These last three months I have been home with my family, working on our own relationships with each other. On the days that we couldnt stand the four walls we got out and about, sometimes just driving, other days fishing and some days just chilling. We have had many discussions on family and how we fit into this community and little world of our own. We have talked about how to look after the people we love and the country we love. Why it's important to carry on doing what our ancestors did before our time. These are the times to get back to the old fashioned campfire stories. Sitting around talking about the differences the kids and their parents deal and dealt with through out their lives. That right now every one is feeling the same way we do, that after covid 19 is no longer a threat we are going to enjoy our lives!!! We all hope that every one is healthy and safe where ever they are xox

16.01.2022 Oh my gawd its been so long. Why has it been so long; life Well here we go with another long one. Living away from family can have it's benefits, you learn to grow and be independent, you make knew family with different support, your views on life and how to raise your children may change. You see how one town/city is diffirent to the one you grew up in. One thing I appreciated living somewhere else is the shopping was cheap as. I could feed my family pretty well and have s...ome luxuries in life. Well I'm back in my home town!!! The change is happening in the town with the mine closing down. There are less people walking around this town then six years ago. Businesses have shut down, the famous Kakadu Bakery is no more. From what I gather half of the towns accommodation will be bulldozed, I'm not sure which half. Only the Traditional Owners and the Kakadu National Parks will be looking after this country, township and community. The future is in our own hands, good luck to us. Now this coronavirus has this place in a community sit down and only essential services can come into Kakadu and Arnhemland. A small bit of peace right at the time we are getting ready for the dry tourist season. So now I want to talk about the shopping and OH MY GAWD $11.66 for a pack of cheese, 36 slices. I didn't prepare myself for this community shopping and I'm feeling poorer then the English when they first travelled here. Why is it that the people who will be here till they die are the ones suffering from the decisions being made by people who are only here for the experience. So I say moving back home has got me all excited. I am grateful to be here, my little family is safer out bush hunting for their own bush Tucker. Learning to live of the land and take care of it. Away from the influence of politics and misguidance. Peace be with you and hope you and your family are safe and healthy.

06.01.2022 Always the way, ages before we post. Sorry everyone we will try to be more frequent. This was in the middle of a Kakadu dry season, at the southern end of the park. Time spent with family, on the country we love!!!

01.01.2022 It's that time of year!!! If you are like me then you enjoy seing the wild life!!! This beautiful python was on its way to some nice bushes near some flats in town, we interrupted his night and he headed back to the other side of the road. It looked close to two metres long, with some Kerlew birds trying to hunt it away. Just a reminder to keep an eye out and teach the young ones about snakes. Big snakes like in the picture can be dangerous and wrap around small dogs a well ...as children. They also are usually acurate with thier strike, that can cause a nasty and sore bite drawing blood. We have 4 from the top ten most venemous snakes in Australia, sometimes not easy to recognise. This is the time of year when young ones hatch and move about nervously, adult ones are on the move looking for cooling spots just like us. So if you see a nice shady area and think it's a good place to chill, just have a look around before you settle down. My little family had an encounter and thankfully nothing bad happened from it. While in the garden at East Alligator my eldest son said he seen a snake and tried to keep the other kids away. I thought maybe he was mistaken and just seen the head of a lizard. So calmly we got the kids to go away, by suggesting they go and play PS4 hahaha. We lifted the rock he pointed out, sure enough there was a Western Brown, about three weeks old.
