19.01.2022 Hi Guys Well we finally got to have a committee meeting to discuss the state of play with all the current & everchanging conditions of life as we see it at the moment So here we go... Club Championship / Club trips It has been decided that given it will be unlikely that we will get the last trip into Eildon, we are calling the Club Championship as finished as at Nelson, so congratulations to our new champ whoever that may be we will announce that shortly Head to Tail, Heaviest & Longest Fish comps These will continue as normal until the 30th June as per the normal rules Presentation night We have cancelled the night this year as we do not believe we will be able to have 80 odd people at the club for a function in the foreseeable future we may do a more casual night later in the year or hold over the trophies until next year we will let you know on this when we know AGM Again this has been postponed until we are able to run it at the club possibly August or September at this stage, we will issue the Annual Report via e-mail on the 15th July & then do the normal AGM procedure when we can - the committee will then act as a care taker until we can also do the normal procedure & elect a new committee Next Years Syllabus Normally this time of year we would be voting in the next syllabus, the Committee has decide as we cannot get together to discuss & vote on a new syllabus (except by e-mail, which would be a nightmare) we are going to run with the same syllabus trips as this season & just change the dates to correspond with the 2020/2021 season we will issue a new syllabus with dates shortly We will not be able to start the trips until we have all of the restrictions removed that prevent us having our trips at the moment (ie outdoor gathering number restrictions, accommodation restriction etc.) Club Meetings This is the same as we currently are no meetings for the foreseeable future, again we will let you know when the restrictions ease Stubbie holders will be given out to anyone that attended 10 meetings this year & Towels for anyone attending 7 trips, that is of course when we can all get together Club subs Club subs will be coming due at the end of June you can do a direct deposit for this & use your name as a reference (account details are on the emails) for anyone who is in financial difficulties or who feels ripped off due to the reduced seasoned we are offering a 20% discount ($10) for next years subs up to you if you want to take up the offer I hope this all make sense to everyone we have tried to keep everything as simple as possible & now that things are starting ease back I hope that we will all get back together & start fishing together If anyone wants to discuss any of the decisions made please give me a call Regards Brian

19.01.2022 We have our second winner of $10,000 in the Golden Tag competition! Congratulations to Andrew Fleming who landed this 33cm tagged bream in the Bemm River He...s been fishing the Bemm with family and friends for 40 years! They extended their recent trip to contribute more to bushfire affected tourism businesses whove been doing it tough! Andrew caught the tagged bream on a prawn under a float while fishing with his dad Keith Fleming, who has considerable fishing heritage himself. A good teacher too, it seems! The winnings will be spent on something for the boat, more fishing gear, and on a return trip. Andrew will be back! A boat fishers paradise is how he describes the Bemm, with a variety of species on offer. Whats not to love? So get packing people, and make those long weekend plans quick smart to get amongst these tagged fish in East Gippsland and North East Victoria! 17.01.2022 Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions have been reinstated across metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire. This decision has been made to help manage coronavirus ...(COVID-19) and limit its transmission across regional Victoria. You can still fish and boat but with the following restrictions: If you live in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire, you can go fishing and boating within metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire with one other person or with household members. You cannot travel outside of metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire to go boating and fishing. If you live outside of metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire, existing restrictions still apply but you cannot travel into metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire to go boating and fishing. The Murray River will remain open to those Victorians not living in areas with Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions for fishing and boating. Fishing and boating will be permitted on the Murray provided Victorians do not land on the NSW side of the river. All boats launched in Victoria must be retrieved back in Victoria . Victorians are being asked to be considered and use common sense when it comes to their activities. And importantly, no matter where you live, if you feel sick you must stay home and get tested. 16.01.2022 NSW has updated its Murray River maritime rules. The NSW border starts from the high water mark on the Victorian side of the Murray River. People currently in V...ictoria who intend to enter NSW waters using a vessel on the Murray River must have a permit. This applies to: each person on board a vessel entering NSW waters from Victoria; and all recreational and commercial vessels, including houseboats. NSW Police are enforcing border entry requirements. You can apply for a border entry permit via Service NSW here: service.nsw.gov.au/t/apply-covid-19-nsw-border-entry-permit Further information about NSW border restrictions can be found here: nsw.gov.au//what-you-can-and-cant-do-u/border-restrictions

15.01.2022 In light of the recently announced Stage 3 restrictions to manage the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), were postponing our Golden Tag competition from today u...ntil further notice. Under Stage 3, reasons to leave your house must be limited to buying essential food and supplies, medical care, work and education if necessary - and exercise within your local vicinity. Recreational fishing is not considered a valid reason to leave your home and you will be fined. If you can stay home, you must stay home. We all need to do our bit to help stop the spread of coronavirus and flatten the curve. Any golden tagged fish caught and reported during this time wont count towards a $2,000 prize until the restrictions are lifted. Dont worry there are still plenty of tagged fish out there and as soon as its deemed safe to fish and travel again the competition will be back. For now, lets stay home if we can and ride out this storm together! For current information and updates regarding coronavirus visit www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au Find out more about our golden tag competition at www.vfa.vic.gov.au/goldentag. #inthistogether #stayhome #flattenthecurve #goldentag
