21.01.2022 Welcome Op-Shoppers, to springtime! With the first glimpse at blue skies weve had in a while, things are warming up for the first time in months. Hopefully once your toes have thawed out, youll have a chance to come visit us! Were situated in Bayswater, and whilst our shop cant quite offer a view of the Dandenong Ranges, we can promise you a good look at some friendly pigeons if you pop down to the bakery for lunch. The Ranges are easy to spot from nearby however; views... like so are easy to come by in our area. And if youre a fan of gardening, or possibly a spot of tea in the springtime sun, keep us in mind! If youre up for planting some greens in the yard and need a handy guide as to where, or maybe even a last minute tea set for the guests you forgot you invited over, dont be afraid to pop by. Aside from friendly pigeons and nearby mountains, Knox Opportunity Shop offers a wide range of items, all of which could come in handy at any given moment. And on that note, welcome to springtime! With each purchase comes a fantastic recipe card for a delicious kumquat liqueur, but thats not all! Wed love to hear if you have any yummy kumquat recipes to share! So come along and swap secrets with our lovely customers, so they too can enjoy your favourite kumquat dish! Theres no obligation to share any recipes at all with our staff and cu...stomers -- youre still definitely welcome to purchase the fruits and the accompanying liqueur recipe from us all the same. But here at our Opportunity shop, we pride ourselves in our sense of community, and sharing with each other our thoughts and ideas is a fantastic way to keep our community bonds as strong as can possibly be. 05.01.2022 Politicians love handing over-sized, novelty cheques out. And this one was for a great cause, too! It was a real pleasure to help present Knox Infolink with a c...heque for over $30,000 to go straight into Knox Gives, a community welfare fund. Knox Op Shop - on Macaulay Place, in Bayswater - has been contributing to the fund for over 40 years now, so it was great to get down there to have a chat with everyone, volunteers and members of Infolink. Keep up the terrific work, and I cant wait to see more of the great work you do in our community!

01.01.2022 Reduce, reuse and upcycle! With the dawning of spring time, many more gardening opportunities rise with the morning sunshine. And if youre out of pots, dont hesitate to up cycle some op shop pieces into unique and individual conversation starters! All of the pots in the photographs have been purchased at our shop! They make fantastic homes to root some new succulents, grow seedlings, or even make terrariums. Whilst the wooden shelving unit didnt come from the shop itself..., it once was a pallet wasting away on the side of the road. However, with a few spare minutes, a hammer, and some nails, it was transformed into this rustic looking plant stand, perfect to store a collected series of mismatched op shop pots. Dont be afraid to express your creativity with some upcycled items. And dont be afraid to stop by our store to find things to upcycle! We look forward to hearing stories about how youve recycled and reused items from our shop!
