23.01.2022 Fairhills High School Knoxfield students had an amazing day discovering, synthesising and testing their prototypes for innovative fitness and nutrition ideas. Here's a snapshot of the day's design thinking process.

21.01.2022 KIOSC in Partnership with Mathspace . https://blog.mathspace.co/inspiring-young-minds-with-the-k/ KIOSC has 6 schools from Knox entered into the Theta World Maths Challenge. Over the next 3 weeks, students in Year 7 will complete in the Challenge. Each week, student revise their knowledge and skills using MATHSPACE and then complete the Challenge Question. Students win individual prizes as well as a Grand Prize for the winning school. Best of luck to - Boronia K-12 College, Bayswater Secondary College, Fairhills High School Knoxfield , Wantirna College, Scoresby Secondary College , Rowville Secondary College .

21.01.2022 Wantirna College Year 7 students this week are participating in 'Emergency Technology'. This program has students engaging in algorithmic processes - Coding Sphero Ambulances, Monitoring Earthquakes with Micro:Bits and using VR to disarm bombs! Such great work.

21.01.2022 STEM4ORCE 2021 - Starting Term 2. THERE ARE 5 SPACES LEFT! STEM4ORCE is an afterschool STEM club for students aged between 7-14. Students interact with Drones, Science Experiments, Robotics, Coding, 3D Printing and more. 17.01.2022 Awesome start to Term 2 - STEM4ORCE is KIOSC's afterschool STEM club. We had a great session "Finding Evidence". This week looking back into geological time and walking with dinosaurs. Students were immersed in the 360 Igloo with David Attenborough, viewed Dinosaurs in Virtual Reality and created their very own fossils to keep.

09.01.2022 At KIOSC Today we had the wonderful ladies from Killester College in our VET Cert III Lab Skill programs.

06.01.2022 Congratulation to the Dandenong High School team - HIVE 2 on the amazing 2nd Place in the State Final - Bees with Backpacks. Their pitch was a protection 'safe' to assist bees in escaping high winds so they could continue to pollination and contribute to our food securities. Judges Comments "Fantastic Presentation, confident and well articulated. The pitch and idea was very strong and you explained and demonstrated a complex idea very well. Congratulations".

06.01.2022 Scoresby Secondary College Year 10 students today were in discovering Epigenetics and Micro-arrays. They researched examples through an interactive game and then applied this knowledge in a micro-array analysis analysising how patient treatments can be personalised. Pretty cool science.

03.01.2022 Wheelers Hill Secondary College Year 9 today participated in our Forensic Science Unit. Learners had the opportunity to work in the new KIOSC Igloo observing the crime scene. They then worked within the Biometics and Analytics Lab to consolidate their findings.
