25.01.2022 2021 CLUB CAPTAIN - ANDY JONES Congratulations to Andy Jones who has been appointed the club captain for the 2021 Season. Since coming down in 2015 Andy has embodied the spirit of Knox Rugby Club both on and off the field and is a perfect fit for the role.... 24.01.2022 2020 AWARD WINNERS Huge congratulations to the winners at last nights AGM and Christmas drinks. All very worth recipients of individual recognition for their efforts this season. An awesome night Greenwood Hotel to officially see out the 2020. ... Pics of the evening to come shortly.

23.01.2022 COACHES CONFIRMED! The pieces have settled into place for our 2021 coaching team. Ross Reynolds leads the group and helms Kentwell, with @brad_corban back for a second season in charge of our Burke Cup squad.... The familiar face of famed head honcho Chuck Ardron is steering the 3rd Grade Whiddon Cup side, while nothing less than a couple of life members in Scott Tunbridge and Nick Nilsson continue their work marshaling our 4th grade squad. Colts meanwhile have the three pronged coaching team, young guns Ashton Craig and Harry Chapman calling the shots alongside the seasoned veteran Mick Kelynack. There’s a smattering of assistants and managers rounding out the staff for 2021, with one spot still to be filled as 1st Grade Manager after Denis Kelleher stepped up from the manager’s role to assistant coach - if this is something you might be interested in, please reach out to Secretary Oscar Alcock. #bluewhiteandblack #bringbackbruce

23.01.2022 We are excited to announce that we are welcoming into the fold Ross Reynolds as our Director of Rugby for 2021! As a former Wallaby #8 and Wallabies Assistant Coach he brings a wealth of experience to lead our Rugby program and 1st Grade side in 2021, focused on taking us back to the top of Division 1 Subbies Rugby and creating a winning culture. We are also thrilled that Jac Cameron will be staying on with us in 1st Grade and will work alongside Ross.... Ross most recently was Director of Rugby and Head Coach at Mosman, taking them to Kentwell Cup glory in 2019 and Club Championships the last 3 years running. Ross will be getting to work planning for 2021 now, and also attend our Christmas Drinks on Dec 15 - a great opportunity for the wider club to meet him. We haven’t even closed the door on our season 2020 and planning for 2021 is already in full swing! #momentum2021

22.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that our first Lust Liquor sponsored Players of the Round for our Round 4 clash against Drummoyne last weekend are Matt Davis and Luke Stuart-Smith. In what was a tough day, both men put their hands up when the clubs depth in the front row looked shaky. Matt and Luke ended up playing good chunks of 4th grade, 3rd grade and 2nd grade. Matt even donned the white jersey for a stint in 1st grade. He did all this the very week he was supposed to be c...oming back from a hamstring injury! Well done to Matt and Luke for putting their bodies on the line for the black, blue and white. They have well and truly earned some ice-cold refreshments from our sponsors! Full match reports from the weekends games are up on the website.

18.01.2022 This week’s Lust Liquor Player of the Round goes to Michael Balk & Charlie Yeomans - a couple of guys who played in both 4ths & 3rds at the weekend and showed the sort of spirit and commitment that makes our club tick. Charlie (who is still a part of our colts program) showed his utility value as he played 3 different positions across the games for 3s & 4s, handling them all with aplomb as he has done all season long. Michael, not to be out-done, also put his hand up for mult...iple grades. He spent 4s in his familiar positions in the forward-pack then not only backed up but took on the 10 jersey for the first time his career in 3rd grade. Congratulations to each of these guys who’ll be enjoying some refreshments from our sponsors.

17.01.2022 In a strong showing against Mosman on Saturday, two individuals from our resurgent Scooby-Doos (2s) stood out and will share our Lust Liquor Player of the Round. Matt Horsley was battling illness (but given the Covid-clearance on Friday afternoon) put in a huge performance at full-back, working tirelessly all game to get his team out of trouble and played with great spirit. In the pack, Tiago Carrizo Vega, a rampaging Argentinian back-rower new to Knox in 2020 has been buildi...ng in confidence each game, and on the weekend put in his best performances of the season. He led from the front with damaging runs and brutal defence, and was also rewarded with good minutes in 1st Grade - Tiago is one player knocking on the door of a Kentwell starting debut. There were many impressive performances on the pitch as we were competitive across the grades, congratulations Tiago & Matt, youve earned yourself half-a-case each of Lust Liquors Alcoholic Lime & Soda! Full match reports on the website knoxrugby.com/news and full replays of 1sts, 2nds and Colts via the Cluch TV app.

17.01.2022 Mosman came down to Lofberg yesterday for a big day of hard-fought contests across the grades. 4th Grade continued their undefeated late-start to the season, and Colts got up to get theirs back on track. The top three grades all suffered some tough-fought losses, played with plenty of spirit and with plenty to build on as we catch up our Round 3 clash with Waverley next weekend. Big thanks to Dave Jerogin for getting behind the camera for some of these photos too!

11.01.2022 It was great to be back on the field under the late winter sun yesterday after the rain forced us into an unscheduled bye the previous Saturday. The day started brightly as 4th Grade got a good win in their first game of the season, that turned out to be the high point of a day where things just didnt click across the grades against Drummoynes always well oiled machine.

11.01.2022 Our last Lust Liquor Player of the Round for the 2020 season is split between Jack Upton and Ben Parsonage. Jack was new to the club this season and has warmed to the unique challenge of subbies rugby. Saturday he got the whistle wet in the 2nd grade front-row, before getting a late call up to the 1st grade back-row where he shone with both his wide ranging attack and strong defense in the last gasp win. Ben meanwhile, no stranger to the multi-grade rigeurs of subbies footbal...l, broke his arm earlier in the season. Desperate to get back for the colts finals push he sawed the cast off mid-week and turned up in 4s for a makeshift fitness test. After colts cemented their spots in the finals Ben was sitting around waiting for the bus home when he got the call up to ice the game in 1s, which he did, scoring a crucial try under the posts. Congratulations to each of these guys who will split our last case of Lust Liquor for the season.

Pierce Richards, James Winterton & Luke Rissman each bring up their 50th game.... Head to the website http://knoxrugby.com/news for player profiles on their time with the Knox Rugby Club.

09.01.2022 We took the club out to Lapstone Oval to close out our regular season against Blue Mountains on Saturday. Colts secured their spot in next weeks semi-finals with a solid win and will face up against ladder leaders Mosman for a spot in the decider. Across the grades there were some tough losses under a baking sun, 4ths were cruelly denied a shot at a playoff spot, a 3rd grade side low on numbers couldnt stick with their fresh opposition, and 2nd grade found themselves in a ...similar spot. To close out the season, 1st grade snuck home for their first win in what has been a season of nearlys - avoiding the wooden spoon in the process.

05.01.2022 Our Lust Liquor Player of the Round this week goes to Peter Sherlock. In his first year down at the club Pete has shown not only a great deal of talent - both in his natural spot at halfback, but also right across the backline, but also a commendable attitude to getting on the park and playing a part - the cornerstone of clubs like ours. Last Saturday against Waverley both of these elements came to the fore, Pete started in colts and with the demolition job well underway at h...alf time, came up to 2nd grade to fill in at the injury hit halfback position. In his first start in a Burke Cup game he more than held his own, coming away with not only a try assist, but also a meat pie of his very own. Congratulations to Pete wholl enjoy a full case of the good stuff from Lust Liquor.
