15.01.2022 We are so thrilled to share news of the gorgeous new book "Pierre's Not There" by Australian Children's Laureate Ursula Dubosarsky! In a mulberry brick house on... the harbour that Lara explores while her mother cleans, Lara meets Pierre, a boy about her age with a beautiful antique puppet theatre. With his puppets, he tells her a story about a boy whose family has been eaten by wolves. The boy is lost. He needs to find his grandmother. Lara takes the part of a dog, but suddenly she can no longer tell where she ends and Dog begins. Or is she Wolf? Caught up in Pierre's story, Lara has to fight to protect her identity - and her new friend. Can she help Pierre find his way home? "Pierre's Not There" is a lyrical, captivating and imaginative story that can be read on many levels. Coming November 2020!! 15.01.2022 Who let the Cheeky Dogs out!?! The Cheeky Dogs are the creation of Dion Beasley an Alywarr man born in Alice Springs. Beasley spent his early years in the ...remote community of Owairtilla, also known as Canteen Creek, before relocating to Tennant Creek, putting the remote community on the map with his renowned illustrations of the local dogs and their big personalities. Dion has muscular dystrophy and is profoundly deaf, his remarkable artistic talent was discovered when he learnt sign language with his disability carer at school. The large scale artwork is one of many new installments as part of the Darwin Street Art Festival. If you are in Darwin, head to 20 Shadforth Lane to check it out. via ABC Darwin.
