22.01.2022 ROADS in #Ripley #PDA - but Ipswich City Council assesses development applications for this PDA. - unlike Logans PDAs. About 8900 new homes can be built in Rip...ley Valley with the State Government investing $20 million through its Catalyst Infrastructure Program to extend vital local road networks. Member for Ipswich Jennifer Howard said the funding will enable the construction of two new roads in the Ripley Valley priority development area (PDA), ensuring more affordable land is available to Queensland families. Construction has already begun on Binnies Road West following a $7.14 million investment last year. This work is supporting 36 local jobs, Ms Howard said. Well also contribute a further $13 million towards the construction of the new Cumner Road, which will support an estimated 52 additional construction jobs. These developments will open up significant opportunities for our region and the families who live here. It will prove a catalyst for economic growth and will help make Ipswich an even more liveable city. PDAs are parcels of land identified for development that will deliver significant economic and social benefits to a community. Once a PDA is declared, the Queensland Government works with council, the community and industry stakeholders to plan, assess and deliver projects in the area. Minister for State Development Cameron Dick said Binnies Road West is being built by Orchard (Daleys) Developments, while Cumner Road will be constructed by Intrapac Property. This investment will unlock more high quality and affordable land for Queenslanders, Mr Dick said. Its also creating more local jobs, which are so important right now in the current climate. Intrapac Property Chief Operating Officer Max Shifman thanked the Queensland Government for its strategic foresight and commitment to economic growth for the region. The Queensland Government has been an invaluable partner in ensuring this new road can be built to access otherwise locked-up development land, Mr Shifman said. Its a great start to a new decade, and indeed for our upcoming Whiterock project, having this funding agreement in place to deliver this vital piece of infrastructure. Now, our team is excited to get on with the job building the road and developing the land. The new roads are being funded through #EDQ Economic Development Queenslands #CatalystInfrastructureFunding, which provides funding to get projects off the ground that will benefit community development and employment. 18.01.2022 More clearing or development in a koala area.

18.01.2022 Thi and CODE Development , s does nothing to stop land clearing,it only accelerates it . Go thru laborious process of registering today Friday and object to simultaneous Submission and assessment and Lack of Protection of Koala Priority Areas (DES Koala Conservation StrategY) from CODE and MCUI development.

17.01.2022 The premature koala deaths figures are largely missing for South East Qld. Figures for 2017 approximated an unsustainable 1,000 . Since then we have had the Planning Acts ,Qld Planning Provisions and SEQ Regional Plan hit by Steam Rollers. Further STATE CODE 25/SARA Rules has eliminated the Koala Conservation Strategy Protections of 2020. Green Fauna Infrastructure is not mandatory for Councils ,TMR and AUSROADS.

17.01.2022 WWF do some work in the Strezleckis(VIC) and the large tracts in SEQ where DES has no Information for Koala Priority Areas East of Toowoomba ,S.E. of the Bunyas, Flinders Peak to Mt Maroon/Mt Barney, Upper Oxley Creek and other Bioregional Corridors , and Upper Blue Mountains NSW

16.01.2022 Academics have criticised low Fire Rating of 40 on these little lots. Some little lots get down to 209 square metres. and have no shops or services and green space. Some lots are only 9 metres wide and you cannot get down the side or fit a wheelie bin. Just one of a two score of Town Planning Issues in Sardine City.

12.01.2022 I am posting a copy of letter I have sent to SRRC and hope that you will copy this and do the same. Thanks for your help. To the CEO Scenic Rim Regional Council.... ([email protected]) I am calling on the SRRC to issue an immediate STOP WORK Order for the clearing of essential trees on a significant area of Mapped Core Koala Habitat, on property at 1-11 Eagles Retreat Place, Eagle Heights. I refer to the Operational Works Application (OPW 20/012), lodged as a consequence of, SRRCs approval of DA MCU20/014, for the clearing of Core koala habitat, for the construction of a tennis court. 45 trees were identified as being in this Tree Protection Zone. A DA (MCU20/033, for fourteen 2-3 bedroom cabins has also been lodged and has carefully avoided mention of the tennis court area. However, the site plans submitted simultaneously clearly show that three of the fourteen cabins are now to be located on the site of the tennis court. This application appears to have been made and approval obtained under false pretence, to circumvent the major obstacle for the approval of cabins the tree clearing on a large area of Mapped Core Koala Habitat. This clearing is in breach of the Koala habitat protection provisions of Planning Regulation 2017. It is an offence under s226 of the Planning Act 2016 to make false and misleading statements on a DA. The Developer/Applicant appears to have done so and has signed the DA Form 1 at 25, declaring that all information in this DA is true and correct. I request that SRRC immediately commence a Stop Work action based on this false and misleading information. Signed:

11.01.2022 Hi, Im Eddie the Koala and I live on Edelsten Rd in the rural area of Jimboomba. Unfortunately my home (and those of many other local koalas) is now under threat due to proposed land acquisitions to accommodate unnecessary service roads.

10.01.2022 Koalas don't speak, we have to speak for them we are their voices each one of us they need our help and ...sadly they always will "Koala conservation must take priority over land clearing, regardless of the demand for that land. That principle might seem simple, but so far it’s proved agonisingly difficult."

10.01.2022 In a period of slashing environment Laws and Grants this is an alternative to support.

09.01.2022 The legal clauses here need further scrutiny. Expecting Qld NPWS to do anything in the face of a huge cut in staffing, very few Park Management Plans and little WILDFIRE Preparedness is a challenge.

04.01.2022 The KCS is exemption ridden. The $1.2 Billion x61 fauna killing roads in Logan Koala Priority Areas are not subject to; the Koala Conservation Strategy, EARS, EISs, OFFSETS, or Green Fauna Infrastructure. Shame on Labor UDIA and Koala Advisory Council.
