23.01.2022 A message from AHC CEO Sandy Chong and the AHC team regarding the latest updates on COVID-19: My staff and I listened to the Prime Minister's address this morni...ng. It's a relief to know that the country is not going into lock down. So, for the moment, we all do not have to worry about closing our doors. The PM made it clear to stop panicking and only read or listen to advice that comes directly from the Government. - Restrictions will be up to 6 months. - Outdoor events can be no more than 500 people, and indoor 100. - Social distancing is a must at 1.5 metres. - Step up all hygiene practices and be conscious of what you touch, use hand sanitisers and constantly wash your hands. - Restrictions are in place for visiting retirement homes until 5pm. - There are restrictions on pubs and nightclubs. He made it clear that everyone needs to address the way they speak to a working staff member, for example at supermarkets, cafes and shops....hairdressers should be on that list too! And to stop panic buying! As we are working within the 1.5 social distancing, please step up all of your hygienic practices and ensure all staff are educated and informed. HERE IS A SUMMARY FROM THE PM: - An unprecedented, indefinite Level Four travel ban is in place for the entire world. The travel advice for all Australians wanting to go overseas is 'Do Not Travel'. - There is a ban on non-essential indoor gatherings of 100 people or more. Australians are still advised to stay away from non-essential outdoor gatherings of 500 or more. - Modeled on Singapore's approach, the official advice is that schools will remain open. - There are new measures in place for visiting elderly relatives in aged care. In end-of-life situations, facilities will have the discretion to put very strict arrangements in place to enable family members to see relatives. - Scott Morrison has urged hoarders to stop panic-buying, as grocery stores deal with empty shelves. - The chief medical officer has said a shut down of the country is not recommended by the experts. - Social distancing recommendations remain in place, including advice not to hand shake or hug. 21.01.2022 UPDATE - We have now been closed for over 2 weeks and it has been so hard being away from our wonderful clients. While the government is allowing hairdressing businesses to remain open, were all too aware of how vulnerable our staff and clients may feel being in such close contact.... The safety our our team and our clients remains our utmost priority. We were very optimistic in thinking we would reopen again on Tuesday 14th of April however weve now adjusted this date to 4th of May. We will keep our (online) appointment book open from this date so you can make an appointment or reschedule an appointment that you may have already have booked via our website www.kohelwood.com.au. We understand that whenever we reopen we will still have social distancing restrictions and will continue to maintain our increased safety and hygiene practices. 19.01.2022 If you havent already heard we have to close on Wednesday evening Although we will miss you all we know it is for the best so we can all get back to normal, pronto. On the plus side it means more hair tutorial videos with our team having more time on their hands.... We have an order arriving first thing in the morning so be sure to pop in tomorrow or Wednesday to purchase your Wash, Rinse and Styling supplies. We will continue to help you as much as we can with deliveries throughout the 6 week period and will do our best to help anyone with their hair colour enquires. Were going to leave currently booked appointments in our system so that we can prioritise your booking when we reopen. Any new bookings can be made online from mid September (date to be confirmed).
