02.01.2022 Hello! I’m offering Yoga classes at Glenlossie starting September 16th. I’ve attached some information below but I’d love some feedback on what days work best for you! BYO mats and props(bolsters and pillows). ... I do have some spares. YIN YOGA MONDAYS AND WEDNESDAY AT 6 - 7:15pm $20 cash only Yin is a very slow beginner friendly floor based practice where many props are used to help assist in gently opening up the connective tissues. Connective tissue (also known as fascia) are sheets of fibres, energy and water that pervade the whole body. We will address these tissues by applying a gentle mechanical stress by using passive holds to increase circulation in the target area. Benefits of a regular Yin yoga practise: - Reduces stress and anxiety - Increases circulation - Releases fascia and improves joint mobility - Improves circulation - Balances the internal organs and improves the flow of energy Yin is for you if you are tired and craving energy or if you’re over-stimulated and have too much energy. GENTLE HATHA SATURDAYS 9 - 10am $20 cash only Gentle Hatha Hatha can mean a lot of things. This specific Gentle Hatha class is a beginner friendly practise, you can expect a moving meditation combining both stationary and movement based postures. A low-intensity and Restorative approach overall. Physically the muscles, joints and organs are targeted. Benefits of Hatha - Like any regular movement based practice, when you contract and stretch muscles, move organs around, and come in and out of postures you’re increasing the drainage of the lymph. This helps the lymphatic system fight infection. - Tones the spine. All of our nerves branch out from the spine, connecting the various organ systems to the brain. - Strengthens and tones the body. Yoga postures are weight bearing and held for varying lengths of time. It is great functional fitness. - Relaxes the mind and releases tension in the body. Any questions or feedback please don’t hesitate to reach out. With Gratitude, Meg
