The sausages are still sizzling all afternoon! #goldcoastkokoda96kms Kokoda Youth Group was Established by Doug Henderson and his wife Anna, the initial goal was to raise awareness of the World War II Kokoda Campaign in New Guinea in 1942; and use the 'Spirit of Kokoda' to help young Australian's reach their full potential.

Fifty teenagers have officially embarked on the 14-month multi-layered journey with the launch of the 2019 Kokoda Challenge Youth Program The Gold Coast, Brisbane, Tweed and Logan participants, affectionately known as ‘Kokoda Kids’, have come together with their 16 volunteer youth leaders for fitness testing, orientation and a uniform presentation... The Kokoda Challenge Youth Program (KCYP), funded by Kokoda Challenge Event proceeds, comprises physical training, community service, education and mentorship, culminating in a funded trip to Papua New Guinea to trek the Kokoda Track. Thankyou to everyone who has donated so far we have fundraised $2100 out of our $5000 target!! 20.01.2022 Tomorrow morning we will complete our last training session as a team on the Track! 1 week out from the 96km Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge ! It’s been a long 6 months of bushwalking almost every Sunday in preparation for the event but it’s safe to say we are ready to smash it Over 300km total in training sessions, almost at our goal target of $5000 raised for the Kokoda youth foundation , endless amounts of sweat, laughter and banter, early morning sunrises and plenty... of wildlife We would like to thank our Sponsors and Everyone who has donated! 01.01.2022 Saturday night training sesh this week. We started at the bottom of hellfire pass and hiked up and down (twice for Amanda John and Brez, once for Hannah Emma and Hermann) making a total of 15km !!! The team is ready for the challenge
