24.01.2022 The women at Kavieng Correctional Facility in New Ireland have been hard at work producing the world's most in-demand product in 2020...soap! Vital for good hygiene, preventing the spread of COVID-19 and other diseases, we thank our friends from Canada in the Pacific for their support via the #CanadaFund to help the Kavieng Women's group and others like them in Morobe, Central and AROB to adapt their small businesses this year, producing soap, masks and female hygiene products.

14.01.2022 The congratulations continue, with our dynamic duo of doctors graduating from UPNG with with their MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery). And those smiles say it all! We're so very proud of you Abby Havora and Helen Ipauki!! We know how much hard work has gone into this milestone, and cannot wait to see what the future brings next.

13.01.2022 Happy 100th Kanga!!!! Wishing dear friend of KTF, Capt. Alan 'Kanga' Moore, the happiest of birthdays today! Kanga valiantly led troops of the 39th Battalion at Gona during the Battle of Kokoda, and has kept that spirit alive delivering the Ode at our annual gala dinner on many occasions.... Kanga will have an extra special 100th celebration today with a visit from his daughters, Elizabeth and Rosemary, for the first time in six months due to lockdowns in Victoria. We could not let this extraordinary occasion pass without a little gift, and hope that Kanga loves the portrait Jeffry Feeger painted for him in PNG. Happy birthday our friend. Enjoy your celebrations!

13.01.2022 Who do you think is a little bit happy that they received a SolarBuddy.org solar light? Thanks to our fantastic partners for providing lights to the kids at a school in the Motu Koita district to study by when the sun goes down!

05.01.2022 We're wrapping the week with a very special graduate from Papua New Guinea University Of Technology - Koiari Iamuia. We are delighted to see this day! From Sogeri near the start of the Kokoda Track, Koiari’s journey with KTF started in 2012, when he received a study scholarship made possible by a generous KTF supporter. Since then, his dedication to his studies at high school, then university, saw him graduate this week with a Bachelor of Property Studies. One of only two in his course to pass with Merit, we’re excited and proud that he also received the Council’s Medal. Koiari is already putting his new skills to good use in his profession, working as an Assistant Valuer. Congratulations Koiari! We can’t wait to see your journey continue.

05.01.2022 Congratulations to ENOSH, our team member of the month for November! As Principal of Kokoda College, Enosh has done an incredible job leading the College and team through all the challenges posed by COVID-19 this year. Closing the college, reopening under strict new social distancing measures...nothing phased Enosh! The support provided to students during this time meant that come year end, a significant percentage of students completed their exams....a true testament to Eno...sh and the team he leads. As if this wasn't enough, Enosh has been eager to assist all other colleges and even travelled to Balimo early in the year to assist the team there. Enosh, you are a champion and a very deserving team member of the month! Thank you for going above and beyond.

03.01.2022 What joy a random act of kindness brings On #WorldKindnessDay* spread that stuff around like confetti! * and every day!

02.01.2022 Congratulations to Archer Puri Temu for graduating top of his class and receiving the Council's Medal at Papua New Guinea University of Technology yesterday. Puri, nicknamed "the Philosopher" on his exchange visit to Australia last year, has achieved his childhood dream of becoming a Civil Engineer with hard work and dedication, and we could not be more proud.

01.01.2022 Today is a remarkable day. After the challenges and uncertainties of 2020, navigating our way through shut downs and states of emergencies, and learning to operate campuses under COVID-19 restrictions, today is the last day of national examinations! Our final group of Grade 11 students sit their final exams today across our Kokoda, Balimo and Motu Koita Colleges, and hundreds of students, and our teams of dedicated and hard working staff, will breathe a collective sigh of rel...ief. Congratulations to all and thank you for your resilience and extraordinary commitment to the education of future generations in this very difficult year. Our heartfelt thanks also go to all of the partners whose support make study at our colleges possible: Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's ANCP Program and Kokoda Initiative, PNG Sustainable Development Program Ltd., the Motu Koita Assembly, Kina, BLACK SWAN PNG LTD, Bank South Pacific and the Flight Centre Australia Foundation. 01.01.2022 Maths classes with a difference! These prep students are using leaves, sticks and stones found around their school in Western Province to learn numbers, shapes, patterns and colours. Their teacher is one of many in the region working with a coach weekly to refine their professional skills and deliver the best possible teaching to little minds. This #GivingTuesday we want to give thanks to our amazing supporters PNG Sustainable Development Program Ltd. who make this incredible coaching program possible! Tenkyu tru.
