22.01.2022 Just letting everyone who has missed our capers and caper leaves in their favourite restaurants around SA over the last few months that: Mt Pleasant Farmers Market tomorrow morning on Petria and Andrew Kohlers THE KUMQUATERY stall. As well as Kumquats they grow capers which are processed to the same high standard by Kolophon. So now your caper fix is available again locally.
18.01.2022 With the slightly warmer weather the capers are finally starting to move. Will probably be starting picking about the same as last year, end of October.
03.01.2022 The first couple of kilos of the 2019-2020 harvest coming out of the pickle and being dried ready for sale to top chefs all around Australia. Some retail will also be available later this season. The hail has slowed us down but we will still get plenty this year.
01.01.2022 The capers are very slow growing this year but the first buds are starting. A few weeks and we will be picking again
01.01.2022 This afternoon outside in the caper patch, looked up and thought, HELL that's a black cloud, shot inside and the radar just showed a single small storm. Early November 2 years ago we got badly hailed, this afternoon another hail storm, luckily not as bad or as big hail stones. Cut some leaves up on the capers but probably lost 25% of the jujubes which are just flowering. It could have been worse.
