09.01.2022 Former Guyra Shire Councillor Dot Vickery once quipped that she would be six feet under in south Guyra before the towns new aged care facility was opened. Luc...kily she was there today to see a 15-year old dream realised with the official opening of the multi-million dollar facility. An emotional Dot remembered the many people who assisted along the way and joined Barnaby Joyce MP, Adam Marshall MP and ARC Mayor Simon Murray to unveil the plaque at todays official opening. There was also a special tribute to former Guyra resident Michael Hartmann for his role in attracting extra funding to the project. Kolora residents, who will have to wait another couple of weeks before they officially move in, were also there to check out the state of the art facilities that will become their new home. See more
