25.01.2022 2020 June COVID-19 Update: At the time of writing, noon Thursday 11th of June this is what we know/don’t know! The main issue is that Kongoola uses a shared kitchen which is forbidden by the Government, the same as it is for Caravan Parks, Offices, Camping grounds etc. Therefore:... Kongoola will continue to remain closed to guests and holidaying members until we have clarity on how shared accommodation will work at Mt Hotham. Kongoola is not alone in putting bookings on hold, we have looked at a number of Hotham Lodges who are also waiting to get clarity as to how we can use the shared spaces in bedrooms, bathrooms, living area (4Msq rule) and in particular the shared use of the kitchen. Covid-19 Restrictions and Protocols: The KSC committee continues to receive updates from the Alpine Resorts Industry Advisory Group (ARIAG) an advisory group to the Victorian Government. ARIAG has drafted guidelines and protocols to meet the restrictions but is awaiting an announcement from the Government, currently expected on 22/6, fingers crossed. As soon as this direction is known, the committee will be meeting to assess if it is viable to open the Lodge and if so develop Kongoola’s own Covid-19 Safe Plan drawing on these guidelines. Lift Tickets: Mt Hotham Ski Lift Company (Vail) has today issued an update on lift operation and tickets etc. for the 2020 season. This indicates that they will limit the number of Skier/Boarders on the hill to about 50% and all passes will have to be pre-purchased online with more details to come on how exactly it will work. Please see their website did more details.

20.01.2022 Danielle Foot, Head Chef at the iconic The General, Mt Hotham, shares her perspective of the impacts of COVID-19 restrictrictions on the Hospitality Industry in the mountains during the Southern Hemisphere 2020 snow season. Film and Edit: First Fall Films

19.01.2022 Due to the continued COVID-19 health crisis and the introduction of new restrictions by the Victorian Government, we have made the decision to not reopen our li...ft operations at Hotham for Spring skiing and snowboarding. On 9 July, we made the decision to suspend operations at Hotham in support of the efforts by public health officials to address the growing challenge of COVID-19 in the region, and out of concern for the health and safety of our employees, guests and community. It was a difficult decision which has unfortunately been reinforced by the worsening COVID-19 trends and the declaration of a State of Disaster in Victoria until 13 September. We are disappointed to mark the end of the season this way and extend our gratitude to our employees and the businesses in our communities who worked so hard to open this winter. To our loyal guests: Thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times. We look forward to welcoming you back to our resorts for the 2021 season. 17.01.2022 The lifts are shut and so are we - Well on hold until 20th August. The KSC committee met earlier this week and decided that given the lock down to Melbourne residents, problems for interstate travellers and no ski lifts operating there was little point in opening until we see the restrictions eased. :(

08.01.2022 Due to the ongoing uncertainty around the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kongoola committee has decided to DELAY accepting bookings from the general public for season 2020. When we have some further clarity around when/if the resort is likely to open, we'll notify you here of the new timings for submitting booking requests. Thankyou.

04.01.2022 Opening 5th July for MEMBERS ONLY ... at this stage GUEST bookings ANTICIPATED to start from July 20. Over the weekend the Premier announced that shared kitchen and bathrooms can operate from 21/6. The KSC committee met on Tuesday night, and while official rules from government bodies are still being finalised, we are planning towards opening to MEMBERS ONLY from Sunday 5th July. ... We expect to allow guests to be able to book from 20/7 as this date is currently listed for the next easing of health rules. Things will be different at Kongoola this year at least for the start of the season e.g. limited to one group/family per room, limit as to total number of people allowed in the lodge (4sqm rule) no communal tea and coffee etc. Cleaning Duties will still be required but our Managers will be sanitising each room between occupants and regularly on touch points through the lodge. For those without an EPIC pass, Mt Hotham Ski Lift Company (Vail) has already sold out one of the school holidays weeks, so check the Hotham website for ticket availability before booking accommodation. KSC Committee.

03.01.2022 2020 What's happening??? At the time of writing, noon Thursday 28th May, this is what we know/don’t know! Kongoola will remain closed to guests and holidaying members until we have clarity on how shared accommodation will work at Mt Hotham.... Mt Hotham Ski Lift company has not yet issued an update on lift operation, tickets etc. for the 2020 season and this indicates that they are still formulating plans as to how it will work. The following summary was received last night from the HSA: Some of the unknowns as to how it will work at Mt Hotham include: Will there be overall limitation of visitors who can visit Hotham at any one time, Buller have already eluded to this What are the constraints on Lifts operating queues and chairs What constraints will be required for Accommodation (included shared Bathrooms and Kitchen Areas). What constraints will be in place for Food and Beverage, Village Buses and General Services? Covid-19 Restrictions and Protocols The HSA/KSC committee is receiving updates from the Alpine Resorts Industry Advisory Group (ARIAG) an advisory group to the Victorian Government. The group is comprised of representatives from all Victorian Alpine resorts, including lift companies, chambers of commerce, ratepayers, disabled winter sport, snow Australia, snowsports industries Australia, and stakeholder representative bodies, including the HSA. ARIAG is currently working on guidelines and protocols to meet the restrictions, with the view to drawing up a set of COVID-19 Safe Guidelines. It is a complex matter, particularly as the goal posts keep changing, but the group is working very hard to have this completed in the next week or so. As soon as these guidelines have been approved and published, your committee will be meeting to assess if it is viable to open the Lodge and if so develop Kongoola’s own Covid-19 Safe Plan drawing on these guidelines. Kongoola committee.

01.01.2022 We’ve been off the air for a few days and we apologise along with all visitors and residents, Mount Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board staff were evacuated... from the mountain on January 3 due to the bushfire threat. Fortunately, despite some terrible conditions, a bit of luck and a lot of preparation by our amazing emergency services, RMB staff and locals mean that Hotham and Dinner Plain remain unscathed by the fires. We extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the CFA, Forest Fire Managment Victoria our local firefighters and staff, Mount Hotham Skiing Company, the Australian Defence Force, Victoria Police and all those who support them. Their commitment and passion for our beautiful location is appreciated beyond measure. Thanks also to the incredible team at The Genny who stayed to keep the firefighting team fed and refreshed. Summer still has a way to go, so we’ll keep you updated on conditions, but we’re stoked to advise that HOTHAM IS OPEN again, so we hope to see you soon.
