The children are observing how to grow the plants from seeds and using special container for observing sprouts. We have different kind of seeds from Woolworths(Woolworth discovery garden) and the children grow the seeds too observing the changes everyday!! See more

18.01.2022 Hinamatsuri, or the doll festival, is observed on March 3 to celebrate female children and pray for their continued health and happiness. We enjoyed this special day with lots of activities and traditional food - Chirashizushi

17.01.2022 Harmony Week celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. To celebrate Harmony Day in March, the Hana class children coloured in pictures of children from different cultures/nationalities while the Tsuki class children drew pictures of children. These pictures were displayed in the foyer, placed around the world, centering around Australia. The message of Harmony Day is 'everyone belongs'. Everyone belongs at Konomi and everyone belongs in Australia.

16.01.2022 "Get down low and go, go, go". The Fire Brigade came! We learnt that there are the different types of uniforms they wear depending on the type of fire. And firefighters have to put on all the protective gear they need to wear and it completely covered them up. If we are in a fire, or see a fire, we need to find a phone and call 000! It was a lovely, positive experience for all of us.

16.01.2022 Konomi Kindergarten hosted 57 early childhood teachers directors & service providers from all over Sydney to see our centre. We are very pleased that our visitors were extremely impressed with our environment, practice of cultures & quality of teaching. The tour was organised by the Australian Childcare Alliance NSW.

12.01.2022 This year's book week parade, children made costumes made out of recycled materials! How cool are they!

12.01.2022 We had a police officer came to Konomi from the local station.Officer Haley had a belt on with a gun, taser and handcuffs. She also spoke to us about their job, and let the children know that if they were ever in trouble to never be afraid of the police, as it is their job to help people.We are very reassured that they are always here for us.

10.01.2022 Happy Easter! Children engaged in a range of experiences such as craft & art, egg hunt! Parents were invited to join the children in their hat parade. Thank you all for joining us! We also had a special guest, Mr. Trent Zimmerman, who is a member of the house of representative of North Sydney that he brought an Aboriginal flag for Konomi Kindergarten as part of our reconciliation action plan. Thank you, Mr. Zimmerman for such a wonderful contribution and sharing your time with us.

08.01.2022 33 ... In Konomi kindergarten, we celebrate Hinamatsuri. We display Hina dolls and all children take group and individual photos with the doll display. Also, The children learning about Hinamatsuri tradition during the group time through stories and songs. The kitchen staff made special lunch for the children. The children really enjoyed the lunch

06.01.2022 "Children's Day" - "Tango no Sekku" in Japanese has been celebrated pray for boys to grow up. It’s also a day to celebrate the health and happiness of children. Hope families enjoyed our beautifully decorated samurai armor, know as "Kabuto". Because children wanted to make a wearable Kabuto, we used a newspaper. It worked!

05.01.2022 Some of our Tsuki class children joined the celebration of the 2019 Emerge Festival with close to 35 groups participating in the parade in Chatswood CBD. Did you like our Kookaburra totem?

05.01.2022 Dr. Mary visited us and talked to our children about dental awareness, the importance of taking care of our teeth, the correct brushing and good food and tooth decay. Do you remember what is good food and bad food for our teeth??

02.01.2022 We celebrated Tanabata, the Star Festival Tanabata is celebrated to commemorate the romantic story of two lovers represented by the stars Vega and Altair who are only allowed to meet each other once a year as long as the skies are clear. Children wrote wishes on small pieces of colored paper called tanzaku and hang them on bamboo trees. They became beautiful wish trees!
