25.01.2022 Yeeeee Haaaaah!! Flannel Shirts, Straw Hats, Plaited Hair, Fairy Lights and an Aussie Dinner it’s time for a Bush Dance! Bush Dance is always a highlight for students at camp. A great night to re-join their peers in other activity groups and break social barriers through the energy and excitement of dancing. Campers get to experience a selection of traditional Australian dances, while also enjoying a couple of modern dances and games.... Often the campers will get all dressed up for the night bringing with them a flannel and a cowboy hat. Our team also loves to complete the experience by offering a bush tucker themed dinner, complete with fairy lights and Aussie decorations. To help you plan the best possible school camp, contact our Camp Coordinator today to secure the last available dates for 2020 or get in early for 2021. 07 4630 8118 http://koojarewon.org.au/activities#enquiry

24.01.2022 We are back! On this glorious winters morning, we’re excited to announce that Koojarewon is opening for camps of all descriptions! As always, EVERYONE is welcome. Of course, camp will look a little different when you visit, but change is something we are all getting used to. During our time without campers, we have painted our venues, cleaned, mowed set up new systems, and had a baby (Isaac!)... Our time in isolation hasn’t all been good. People lost their jobs; their incomes and their security. We’ve struggled with patience, trust, and faith. We’ve been angry, depressed, and broken. We’ve learned that we do not like uncertainty; that we prefer to be in control of our destiny. Our humanity was on full display. Despite this, we believe that God was with us through it all. The Bible tells us that God’s love comes down to us and says, I understand, I’ve been there, please trust me. Our prayer is that we will grow in trust, patience, and faith. This is also our prayer for the wider world. Our camp is ready. Our team are ready. The sun is shining and the grass lush and green. Let camp be your highlight of this turbulent year. Grace and Peace The Koojarewon Team

20.01.2022 May the joy and peace of Christmas be with you and your families this season and throughout this New Year. We pray that this is a time to treasure all the simple and precious blessings in your life in the midst of everything going on. God bless from the Koojarewon Team

20.01.2022 Our team thrives on creating a safe and supportive environment in which students can develop more resilience and grit. How fantastic is the definition of the word GRIT!! We think it’s an invaluable character trait to grow, which is so key in helping us face future struggles.... Our team do this through exposing students to; new experiences, very different from home and school, as well as allowing them to face challenges both (team and individual), which give students the opportunity to problem solve together and resolve conflicts. They can experience all of this and more at Koojarewon Youth Camp. Secure the last available dates for 2020 now! 07 4630 8118 http://koojarewon.org.au/activities#enquiry

20.01.2022 And then there were THREE! Our team has loved having the chance to pour some more love into camp by adding quotes to our bathroom doors. Its been exciting to have the opportunity to create another way to remind campers and leaders that they are valued, supported and have an unlimited potential. The boy's dorms bathroom (Eucalyptus cabin) is completed!! Next we will be adding some to the girl's dorm bathroom (Grevillea cabin).

20.01.2022 This morning we remember the truth that God’s love does not change. His mercies are new everyday. As Easter approaches we see the cross first as a symbol of terrible suffering and sacrifice and then early on the Sunday as the most awesome symbol of triumph!!

17.01.2022 To our wonderful community We at Koojarewon Youth Camp have made the decision to shut our doors to all normal operations from today (24th March) until the 27th June 2020 (start of the school holidays) or until further notice. For many decades we been the highlight of kid’s year! We will take this moment to remember the value of camp and why we have existed and why we will continue to.... We run camps for the children, for the excitement and nervousness that comes from packing your bag with Mum and Dad the night before camp, for the energy that surrounds the packing list. For the songs, the games and the fun the children have on bus ride to camp. We run camps for the over the top energy that comes from choosing which bunk you’ll sleep in; whether you’ll be on the top or the bottom bunk, who will be next to you and laughs and giggles that will happen late into the night. We run camps for the nervous energy and anxiousness that children face when deciding to climb the ladder to reach the top of the flying fox and the internal voice that says you can do it! We run camp for the squeals of joy, the smile of relief and for the confidence building statement I did it! We run camps for the endless question what’s for dinner? For the joy the pancakes for breakfast brings, for the smile that you can only get by scooping an extra scoop of ice cream. We run camp because life is better outside in the hills surrounded by the beautiful Australian bush and fauna or at the beach with waves lapping at your feet and the sand and salt in your hair. We run camps because we believe in children, because we embrace their chaotic ways, because we love to see them grow, and smile and laugh. We run camp because we love our God and we love kids. All of this is as true now as it was 50 years ago when Koojarewon first began. Right now we sit ready to respond to the needs of our community, our government and our nation. God has blessed us with a beautifully secluded site and close to everything, a commercial kitchen operation, enough beds and showers for 89, and a team with hearts of service and love. In the meantime, we are praying for God’s providence and in this time as we approach Easter, we remember the dark suffering that was endured on Good Friday and look to the triumphant celebration that all things are made new on Easter Sunday. Grace and Peace Your Koojarewon Team.

07.01.2022 Monday Koojarewon became the evacuation point for a local Outdoor Education Centre and their Year 9 students, who are all now home safe. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the farmers, families and businesses who are struggling with the effects from the fires, which have been burning in our region for the last couple of weeks. We, like so many others, are so grateful for the ground/air staff and volunteers who have tirelessly worked to battle these fires and provide information and support to those in need.

07.01.2022 There are many things that really spark excitement, in the heart of a kid, and shooting things is always a highlight! Not only is firing our sling shots, during our Angry Birds game, (which is part of our Giant Games session) lots of fun!! The activity is also fantastic for developing problem solving, team communication, team coordination, group bonding and encouragement.
