19.01.2022 At Kindy this Term the children have been busy planting vegetable, flower and herb seedlings into our gardens. We are lucky at Kookaburra Creek Kindergarten to have wonderful outdoor play spaces where children are free to investigate, explore and learn about natural environments. Children use items found in nature in their play, such as gumnuts, sticks, flowers and herb cuttings Can you spot our ‘Dingle Dangle Scarecrow’?

14.01.2022 Nominated Supervisor Position Permanent - Part Time Kookaburra Creek Kindergarten, Gladstone. Green Group (Thursday, Friday alt Wednesday)... Currently we have a position for commencement in Term 1, 2021. The position is for a Early Childhood Teacher who is passionate about supporting the growth of little minds. Kookaburra Creek is a non-for-profit Community Kindergarten affiliated with The Gowrie (QLD). We are committed to providing a safe environment, where children are nurtured and encouraged to reach their full potential, through a high-quality play based education program. We are an Approved Kindergarten Program Provider. The successful applicant is required to fulfill the role of being the Responsible Person at the service; manage daily operations whilst collaborating with the Nominated Supervisor, Administrator and Approved Provider. Successful applicant must hold the following key skills and attributes: Excellent ability to form supportive and meaningful professional relationships with families. Have strong communication skills A strong ability to provide high quality play- based programs. Document programs skillfully Have knowledge and understanding of the current Early Years Learning Framework; QLD Kindergarten Learning Guidelines; National Quality Framework; Early Childhood Education and Care Legislations and the Assessment & Rating process. Show strength in leadership, initiative, independence, problem solving and decision making skills. Mentor and support staff in a professional setting. Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth. Strong administrative skills is a must Dedicated to applying best practice. Proudly represent the kindergarten and our philosophical beliefs within the community. Must have qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood or equivalent (recognised by ACECQA as an early childhood teaching qualification) Queensland College of Teachers registration (preferred) Current suitability card or Exemption Card. Trained in or willing to obtain Child Protection training. Have up to date training and proof of certification for, Early Childhood First Aid and CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma. The hours of work are 37.5 hours, completed over a 5 day fortnight. The successful applicant is required to be involved in term 4’s staff meetings and orientations of our new 2021 families.
