25.01.2022 Kookaburra Faith a large framed, long, burley female that is a delight to the eye. Genetics wise she is also impressive, with her being sired by the famous Clanfingon Limelight and out of our cow Kookaburra Carmen, who was a very successful show animal as a heifer.

24.01.2022 Here is a photo of our stud matron Karandrea Wisteria at 15 years of age. Wisteria is an animal with perfect structure, a good long back end (not that you can tell anymore), and who milks the house down. Wisteria has consistently bred high performance animals for us, with highlights including Batista, Destiny, Gabriel, and the present heifer she recently gave birth to, Mariah.

20.01.2022 Kookaburra Gabriel is an Ashleigh Esquire (Ashleigh Esquire x Ashleigh Yvette) x Wisteria daughter that we are very proud of, and whenever we see her the temptation to return to the show circuit returns. Very few Belted Galloways we have seen possess the combination of great structure, height, and muscling that she does. If you are ever in the area you must drop by to have a look at her.

11.01.2022 Here is one of our favourite cows. Kookaburra Destiny is a big framey daughter of one of our former stud sires Ashleigh Wildfire (Kingfisher x Prudence) and our stud matron Karandrea Wisteria. Destiny was a successful show animal and has bred wonderfully after leaving the limelight. As happy as we are with her sons, all of whom have been impressive, we cannot wait for the day that she finally breeds us a heifer!

05.01.2022 Here is a photo of one of our former stud bulls, Ashleigh Esquire (Sire: Ashleigh Aspen x Dam: Ashleigh Yvette), who has greatly influenced our breeding program. Esquire's great height and structural neatness was consistently passed on to his progeny, many of whom have themselves proven to be strong performers in our herd.

04.01.2022 *** High Performance Future Stud Bull For Sale - $2000*** Kookaburra Belted Galloway stud are proud to be offering Kookaburra Morris for sale this summer. Morris was born on the 27 June 2016 and is by Ashleigh Esquire (Ashleigh Aspen x Ashleigh Yvette) and out of our cow Kookaburra Faith (Clanfingon Limelight x Kookaburra Carmen). Morris has breed leading genetics. Like his sire Morris is very tall for his age while possessing perfectly laid-in shoulders, good legs and feet, ...and all of the class of his famous grandsire and dam, who were both 'breed changers' in the famous Ashleigh Park Belted stud. Morris also inherited the great depth of body, length, and abundant soft muscling of his dam Faith. Morris's dam is from Kookaburra Carmen, who is among our best breeders and had a successful show career in her own right, and is by the AI sire and 2003 Launceston Feature Breed Supreme Exhibit 'Clanfingon Limelight'. If you are looking for a stud bull to improve your herd in any of these qualities that also has the potential to be a very successful show bull please inquire by calling Glen and Karen Prien on 63271050 or emailing them at [email protected].

03.01.2022 Pictured here is Kookaburra Grace (Ashleigh Esquire x Kookaburra Carmen), days before she gave birth to her 2016 bull calf. As is typical of Esquire daughters, Grace is quite tall for a Belted Galloway, and she has inherited the length and milking ability of her mother Carmen.

02.01.2022 Pictured here is Kookaburra Carmen after recently having given birth. Carmen is a daughter of Ashleigh Wildfire (Mochrum Kingfisher x Ashleigh Prudence) and Kookaburra Zelda (Budawang Xavier x Karandrea Wisteria). As a heifer she was successful in the show ring and won junior champion female in a very competitive field at the Devonport Agricultural Show. Carmen is the mother of Faith, Grace, and recently of Lucy, all of whom are animals that epitomise what we are trying to breed at Kookaburra Belted Galloways: Frame, Carcass, and Structure.
