24.01.2022 Woolworths Earn and Learn Update! We have exceeded our 2017 total. Our total count as of today is 13,200 stickers!!! We have until June 25 so please keep on collecting. A big thank you to all of the families and community that have helped us to collect these so far. Keep an eye out for next weeks post we have something special to share

What do you think our final tally will be on 25th June 2019??? To celebrate our final week of Earn and Learn, we are giving away a $30.00 Woolworths gift voucher to say thanks for your help! ... 22.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE! Yes we are open during the current health crisis. If you are looking for care before June 30th 2020, please call the Centre directly on 49 552 398 as we will not be monitoring our wait list during this time. This includes existing wait list applications with start dates between April 6th 2020 and June 30th 2020.

22.01.2022 This year we will be supporting Anglicare and making up some Christmas Hampers for people in need for the 3rd year in a row. Our goal again this year is to make 5 Hampers for this wonderful cause helping disadvantaged individuals and families. Items that can be donated to these hampers include non perishable items, basic toiletries items and gifts for all ages. If you would like to help us to fill these hampers please bring in your items no later then December 13 2019. Thank you for helping us support Anglicare

21.01.2022 We are all setup at for the Super Playgroup and we will be here until 11.30am. Pop on down to Mackay North Primary School for a fun filled morning with some free activities for children and you can grab a sausage sizzle . If your looking for childcare, you can also have a chance to chat to our wonderful Educators about our Centre .

20.01.2022 KINDERGARTEN PLACES AVAILABLE! We are now accepting children from age 3 years and up in to our Kindergarten program. Child must already be 3 years of age at time of enrolment and must be fully toilet trained. Please contact the Centre if you are interested in a position.

16.01.2022 Good Morning Everyone! This year women and families have been hit especially hard by Covid-19 and everything that came with it. Many have found themselves jobless, homeless and often trapped in dangerous and horrible situations. Christmas can be an especially difficult time for people who are already struggling so Star 101.9 and Mackay Women's Services are asking the community to band together and help out these struggling families by submitting hampers of food and Christmas... goodies. These hampers will go towards helping families who rely on the Mackay Women's Centre, Domestic Violence Resource Service and Mackay Women’s Sexual Assault Service. Kookaburra is joining in on the Christmas drive and are hoping to make 5 hampers for people in need. You can find the buckets in the hallway and we ask if you could please help us by donating non perishable items, games, Christmas items and anything else you can think of to help someone who is struggling this Christmas. The hampers will be collected by Sam and Rach from Star FM by December 9! Star 101.9 Mackay

16.01.2022 LOOK AT THAT BUMP! Today was our Kindergarten Teacher Alyse's last day before she heads off on maternity leave to have her baby girl. 15.01.2022 This year is flying past already and we have now welcomed most of our new families. Here at Kookaburra we use Storypark to help our families see all of the amazing experiences the children get to participate in whilst they are here at the centre. Storypark also allows families to share their own stories and experiences of what the children get up to while they are at home or go on holidays. We have created a short tutorial to help our families to write their own stories to share with their educators and other family members. Please feel free to ask your childs Educators if you have any further questions on how to use the app. We cant wait to see all of the families exciting stories.

This is a cause close to Pams heart as sadly she lost her son in law in 2017 to Leukaemia. Please help support this wonderful cause, any donations will be greatly appreciated. ... 04.01.2022 This week at Kookaburra we have been celebrating Book Week! On Wednesday we had a dress up day where the children were able to dress up as their favourite character from a book. Reading is very important for children as reading books aloud to children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. It helps them develop language and listening skills and prepares them to understand the written word. All of the children were very excited to dress up and even bring in their books to read with their friends in their rooms. It was also wonderful to see all of the staff dressed as their favourite books .
