25.01.2022 Welcome to the new families and kids who came to the junior AFL come and try session yesterday afternoon. We have options for all ages on Tuesdays.. we start with an all in warm up activity (including parents) then break into groups of roughly similar age/ability and play a practice game to give everyone some game sense and fun. All the parents participate in the games and stay with / near there own kids. It is very easy to run and great for our non AFL parents to learn th...e game at the same time as the kids. Some of our kids also will play in the u8.5 and u10.5 teams with kookaburras and some of the older players also play in u12.5 with other local clubs. 100% of the kids will participate in the family fun days held each term - next one is a Bundy Bowl and Leisure (Term 2). Membership is $50 for the whole familiy for the whole year.

11.01.2022 The Kookaburras are excited to announce a new program for the Childers community for primary school aged children and their families.

08.01.2022 Small group of 20 keen Kookaburras came along to our first come and try session today.. we celebrated Chelsea and Lucy making the Bundaberg Girls Primary School Rep Team (we have 6 Kookaburras in Rep Teams this year). We also welcomed 3 x u8.5 players and 3 x u10.5 players who have joined our teams in the local AFL Competion for this season starting in Term 2. We are very excited that they get to keep, and look after their own jerseys.. makes it easy to come ready to play!... AFL Wide Bay Thanks to the support of our sponsors we are able to make this affordable for families and are working hard to engage more families into AFL. Our focus is on getting the whole family involved and active. Today we had all kids and parents having a kick (from 5 years old to 50 ish.. ). We welcome all people and all abilities to come and have a kick with the Kookaburras on Tuesday afternoons... it is inclusive, it’s friendly and it’s fun. Next Family Fun day is at Bundy Bowl and Leisure.. a Kookaburra favourite! We have the Fun Days each term to give the kids and parents a chance to have some fun and make friends. We are having another AFL Come and Try Session next Tuesday in two locations .. Woongarra State School and St Lukes (both at 3.30 pm Tuesday). The Kookaburras Executive Committee met today and endorsed the 2021 Kookaburras Dates and Activities for Term 1 and Term 2 which we are pleased to share below.
