20.01.2022 Harvesting a few soybeans today . This crop is fantastic no weeds ground is extremely level and the beans are all standing up right just waiting to be harvested . I love paddocks like this one it’s a real pleasure to harvest just get in put the front down and go and watch those beans filling up the bin rather quickly .

14.01.2022 Old Bob sounds pretty good
13.01.2022 Here’s to another year gone of guessing what the weather might do and sitting and wondering if the rain we all badly needed would show up . And finally it did arrive twice , All though times were tough and with this bloody virus eating away at peoples normal active lives it didn’t worry us that much with our business but our thoughts did go out to everyone else whom it did disrupt their lives n businesses. This year saw some pretty good crops of tea tree though ,and c...attle prices went through the roof which all of us that had cattle to sell well we cheered great-fully when we saw that money come in finally us farmers were getting good money for our cattle we worked so hard to keep through the drought . Our son William took on a big job of running and organising Old Bob #3 our truck n has done a great job the old girl proved that she maybe old but boy she sure can keep up with the younger generation carting hay and wheat she has a heart of gold n loves William giving her directions . She doesn’t purr like a kitten she roars like the old lioness she is and makes sure you hear her coming from a mile away . We want to thank our loyal customers that have stood by us and where a hand shake was all we ever needed when a deal was agreed upon for a job. Without you guys our business wouldn’t be what it is today . And to our new customers that took the chance and trusted us with their crops and tea tree we thank you fir trusting us . With even more new customers lined up for next year we will be very busy but we will get the jobs done Long hours have been spent in the work shop too with our son Kristopher building with Karltons help of designing a tea tree front from scratch that was a complete success and now is in WA doing a fantastic job . Number 2 is now in the making . Soybean harvest wasn’t a very big one due to lack of rain for them to be planted . Wheat harvest in our area was surprisingly good with good yields . Brandon and zoey managed to get through the year as well despite the struggles of drought and now have up graded some of their gear ready for a busy summer now the rain as arrived and things finally are growing and hay and silage can be made , So here’s to you all having a wonderful Christmas and happy new year . See you all next year hopefully with rain when we need it and great crops . Hope you all have a happy and safe time over theses next few weeks and remember to stop and breath and spend time with your loved ones as we plan on doing cheers from Kook Harvesting and family. 12.01.2022 Well what a year kookharvesting has had so far . The drought not only hits us farmers it hits everyone whom earns a living off farms n farmers be it harvesting contractors or baling services or trucks that transport the stock or produce from the land . Soybean acres were down n yields very poor for some so every grain counted I know I tried my best to get as many as I could in some pretty bad conditions just to help the farmer out . Typical the yields were down but the pric...e of grain was sky high so every grain did count . Silage crops were also down lucky we picked up a few extra jobs to fill the gaps . Cattle prices were disgusting n it was truly a buyers market leaving us farmers feeling ripped off big time may as well have given them away . Tea tree was going great though as it’s pretty tough but a very sneaky frost crept in a did damage to what I thought was a very tough plant . Luckily getting in quickly got the job done before the leaf fell off . Picked up a few extra jobs here as well karlton sure was flat strap I almost forgot what he looked like in day light long long days and lots of traveling that blue Ute sure has some kms on it now lucky she’s tough n reliable With no rain down south silage season will be none existance from now until late February next year . But the boys have a few projects in the shed to carry on with which will keep things turning over so watch this space . Times are tough for everyone and it’s times like this we all need to be there for our family n friends and neighbours on the land remember a phone call and saying hi is always welcome everyone needs to know somebody cares A few storms have slowly started to stop in and drop a bit of rain a lot more would be very welcome prayers each day to encourage them doesn’t hurt either . I hear the shops in our local towns are finding it tough also drought has a trickle down effect n when us farmers aren’t making money we can’t be spending it either luxury things have to be put on hold . Like going out to dinner or getting your hair done or buying a new outfit or cutting back on even nice things at the supper market you just learn to go without and makes you stop n think about what you can go without when you have too .But in all this year we still have our health and our family close by and food on the table and water in our creek . Don’t forget to pray for rain so we can all stress less. See more
12.01.2022 Watch this space later tonight big news . Tad excited this has been over a year in the making . Long hours lots of brain power has gone into this project and blood sweat n tears and a few swear words no doubt by the big fellow . Feeling pretty proud of Karlton today and kristopher. So hopefully videos n photos to come .
11.01.2022 Well silage chopping season is in good swing with us traveling as far south as Combine and as west as Bellbrooke so far and working our way back up towards home . Crops have been pretty good and so we have had happy clients which is always good . So far the weather has been kind and allowed us to get the jobs done . Tea tree season has also begun and here’s to a smooth run with that too . Our middle son William is back on board for a while to help with the harvest having hi...m helping out gives Karlton some relief from trying to be in several places at once . Not many soybeans this year due to lack of rain . So here’s to getting all the work done and everyone being happy . With the virus about it hasn’t really stopped us doing what we do . Feels kinda weird not shaking clients hands especially new ones but got to keep safe . Hopefully we can all get back to a new normal very soon and for those that have been effected by this virus our thoughts n prayers go out to you all . Hang in there as best you can and if your having trouble reach out and talk to someone . Mental health is a real and hard thing for many especially in a our rural area . Stay safe everyone See more

06.01.2022 Matilda chewing away on soybeans
05.01.2022 Well she’s all painted up pretty now . This front was designed n built by Karlton n our eldest son Kristopher. It’s been an extremely long process from designs in Karltons head to coming together with both Karlton and Kristopher’s skills of cutting and welding machining parts on the lathes . Each part measured twice n cut once . It’s a bloody credit to both of them in how it’s all come together. Yesterday it was taken and had its first test run in some Tea Tree Karlton and... kristopher were both extremely happy with just how perfect it ran . Hoping for video later tonight to share . This Front will be going to Western Australia to chop eucalyptus trees for oil . Karlton and Kristopher will travel over to supervise it’s installation on the chopper over there and help show the new owners how it all works . Our son William will transport it over there with the truck . This wife and mother couldn’t be prouder of the effort and skill these two have put into making this all happen . See more
04.01.2022 Now in WA ready for its new owners to use .. Karlton flew over yesterday to help them learn how it all works . Very disappointed Kristopher couldn’t go after all his hard work and long hours building this front from scratch with Karlton all because of these boarders still being closed .. They both should be very proud of what they have created . Kristopher’s business sticker was placed on it this morning in pride of place and rightfully so
