23.01.2022 Good Evening Beautiful families, As this week of weeks draws to a close, I can share with you the very latest news we have received from the Department of Education and Training (DET) about childcare permits for permitted workers. This advice has changed in some respects so please read on.... What has changed? we only need to receive one form from one parent. This can be either the Permitted Worker Permit (including childcare) for parents working onsite or the Access to Childcare and Kinder (Working from Home) form for parents working from home. Both of these forms include an attestation that the parent seeks access to childcare and that their child/ren cannot otherwise be cared for during work hours by the Employee or another responsible adult in the household. It is out responsibility is to obtain one form that includes a childcare attestation from a parent. We do not need a form from both parents, unlike previous advice. If a person holds a valid Access to Onsite Childcare/Kindergarten Permit or is an exempted person they can access childcare/kindergarten in the Restricted Area. The previous advice that in rare circumstances, an employee does not need a worker permit or a Childcare and Kindergarten Access Permit still stands. This includes law enforcement, emergency services workers or healthcare workers who carry employer-issued photographic identification, which clearly identifies the employer. The original list of Permitted Workers under Stage 4 Restrictions has been supplemented with a new list of Permitted Work Premises. This newer list is key to whether or not a person is eligible to access early learning during this time. This is still the case: If a person’s workplace/industry is on the list of Permitted Work Premises and they are working on site, they are eligible to access early learning. If a person’s workplace/industry is on the list of Permitted Work Premises and they are working from home and can attest that there is no other adult available to care for their child/ren, they are eligible to access early learning. If a person’s workplace/industry is not on this permitted list, they are not eligible to access early learning even if they are working from home (in this situation they will not be working on site as the business is required to be closed for onsite work) However, those workers who do not otherwise meet the criteria to access childcare will be able to do so if their partner is able to provide you with a permit that includes their right to access childcare. Therefore if you need childcare, but perhaps were not eligible prior to this please contact us and we will accommodate your requests. We want children in the service ! Kind Regards Sam

22.01.2022 Hi Everyone, I just wanted to clarify a few things, as there is lots of different communication, but I thought it was best to put it all together as there are lots of miscommunication and confusion, I have to say I am sorry that this is all coming out so late and the pressure and stress this is putting on all of the families. Unfortunately the government only released some of these permits at 6.30, so I do understand it will be very difficult to get employers to fill these d...Continue reading

18.01.2022 This week our Kinder children are having 'Lunchbox week'. They are practicing preparing their lunch, having discussions around healthy food and how they need to have a balance, also focusing on when and what they are going to eat throughout the day. We are loving seeing and hearing the children discussing their lunch.

18.01.2022 As we continue to monitor the coronavirus outbreaks and adhere to health guidelines and stay at home restrictions, your child may become curious about why they need to stay at home and why they can’t see their friends or hug their grandparents. It's important as educators and as parents that we use simple language to help them understand, find out how you can discuss germs at home in our latest blog!

06.01.2022 Dear Beautiful families, Thank you for your patience as we try to interpret the changes about to be imposed on attendance at our service. Whilst these details may still be subject to change, the details below are accurate to the best of our knowledge. The criteria for children attending the service on-site has changed as follows: 1. Children whose parent/s (one parent in single parent families) are in the permitted worker category and it is their day of work (evidence requir...ed from both parents) 2. Vulnerable children in out of home care, children known to child protection and other agencies and children the service identifies as vulnerable 3. Children with a disability who also fit one of the above two categories. If your child fits into one of the above categories, we ask that you complete an online registration via the link below/ let us know by end of business today. We also ask that you provide us with a permit from your employer to indicate the following link https://www.justice.vic.gov.au/permitted-worker-scheme link : 1. What your occupation is and where you work (company/organisation) 2. Day/days of work (if this changes please have your employer state this) 3. That you are required to attend work onsite and cannot perform these duties at home We are being asked to seek this evidence for both parents. These letters can be uploaded when completing the online registration form/ emailed to us at [email protected] We will be unable to accept any children who have not been registered via the above link/for whom we have not received proof. Please note that if you are enrolling your child for the first category, we are only able to accept your child on the days that you are working onsite. If your child is attending care because they are in the category of ‘vulnerable children’ please note that we have enough information on file and will not require any further documentation. However, we will be following the strict guidelines set out by the State Government for who can attend from this category. In order to help you determine you are in the permitted worker category, attached is a document outlining workplaces that are closed for on-site work, open for on-site work with a COVID Safe Plan, and where there are restricted operations or industry specific obligations. This information is subject to the Directions of Victoria’s Chief Health Officer. If you are having difficulties in understanding your eligibility or require any assistance at this time, please do not hesitate in contacting us. Thank you for your understanding and support. 01.01.2022 https://www.childsplayelc.com.au/educators-day/ Wednesday 2nd September marks Early Childhood Educator Day. This day is about recognising and celebrating our educators and saying thank you for all the hard work that they do. We think that this year is especially important as educators have been a consistent source of support, care and love for children throughout Covid-19. ... We are asking parents to nominate an educator in the service to receive a special prize (a beautiful hamper and some cash!). We also encourage families to share a special note about their nominated educator as we know they will love to read these messages. Please click on the link below to nominate an educator. Nominate an Educator Your child may want to create a note or drawing for a very special educator or multiple notes to hand out to a number of educators or just one for everyone in the room/centre. Please bring in these notes on the Wednesday 2nd of September, or through out the week if your child doesn't attend on the Wednesday. If you are not attending during the lock down period please upload it with your nominations, send it by email or drop it off in our letter box as we would love for you to still be involved. Let's show our amazing educators how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication. We can't wait to celebrate with you all and we are looking forward to receiving nominations and seeing all the smiles on our educators faces!
