25.01.2022 Children are naturally curious builders, and it’s a testament to their imaginations that big machines and construction fascinates so many of them. The best way to have children stretch those creative muscles and get involved with STEM is by actively participating in different, hands-on activities for them to enjoy. At Kool Kidz Tarneit West, we provide children with opportunities to develop their gross motor skills and imagination. A major portion of these activities include building blocks, legos, stacking activities and other construction activities.

19.01.2022 Developing leadership skills in children is very significant in supporting their development. Leadership skills are never complete without learning effective communication techniques. At Kool Kidz Tarneit West, we encourage children to learn and master the basics of effective and meaningful communication. In the Caterpillars rooms, our educators have been focusing on active listening in children by encouraging them to lead group times, share their stories and ask questions based on what they have listened to.

18.01.2022 Just as it is necessary to instill in young children, the importance of avoiding strangers; it is equally important for children to recognize and understand that the stranger in a uniform is there to help and bring them to safety in an emergency situation like a house fire. By teaching our children to see Police officers, Firefighters, or local Librarians as friends, we can dramatically change how they view these figures in the future. At Kool Kidz Tarneit West, our Beetlebugs children have started learning about different roles played by our community members. Today they learned about veterinarians. The educators talked to the children about what the veterinarians do, what all equipment they need and set up a 'vet clinic' for the children to explore.

13.01.2022 "When you read to a child, when you put a book in a child's hand, you are bringing that child news of the infinitely varied nature of life." Paula Fox Promoting reading in early years is very important for the overall development of children. Research have proved that reading helps to develop communication skills in children apart from the cognitive and emotional benefits it does for children. At Kool Kidz Tarneit West, we promote reading from very early ages. We expose the children to a variety of texts such as books, magazines, flash cards, puzzles etc.

Red means stop, green mean go, yellow means very very slow. Children enjoyed listening to the song. After learning all about the traffic lights, the children made their own traffic signals.

02.01.2022 Science Tuesdays are fun Tuesdays for Kool Kidz Tarneit West..... Children are primed for learning, and what they learn while they’re young can impact their interests later in life. They are hands-on learners and science helps children develop key life skills such as communication, remain organized and focused, develop their senses and overall awareness. Today our classrooms were busy engaging the children in science activities. Our younger rooms explored colours and sorting today with the help of new songs. Our older rooms were interested in exploring the changes happening during chemical reactions.

01.01.2022 Road safety is a great subject to engage children and young people and Road Safety Week is the perfect time to do it! It’s vitally important to help shape children’s understanding of and attitudes towards road safety, to help give them the best chance of keeping safe while they’re young and as they get older. At Kool Kidz Tarneit West, our kinder children have been exploring road safety by engaging in different activities. The children participated in group times where they were able to connect or match the letters they learned to the vehicles used in different roles played by the members of the community. The children also participated in open ended sustainable experiences where they made their own roads and areas with different traffic signs etc.
