23.01.2022 Great news with today’s announcement that Koomarri’s charity collection points will be back in May as part of a six-month trial at the Mitchell and Mugga Lane Resource Management Centres. When the pandemic hit a year ago, our Cut Cloth business closed overnight and while we have been getting back to normal operations slowly over the past few months, this trial is a great step forward in increasing our volume. We have a fantastic team at Cut Cloth who process the product tha...t is donated. The cloth is collected, cut, and bagged ready for resale to local Canberra businesses that need cleaning rags. If you want to learn more, head over to our website. http://www.koomarri.com.au/cutcloth

01.01.2022 Have your say! Australia’s first National Disability Strategy was a ten year plan that ran from 2010-2020 and it is now under review. It was the first time all levels of Australian governments had come together to make a plan like this for all people with disability, all across Australia. ... The strategy outlined the actions governments would take to build more inclusive communities, and make sure people with disability had the same opportunities as others in the Australian community. Importantly, it also set out what actions the government will take to make sure it lives up to its responsibilities under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. As part of the consultation process, DSS would like to hear from people with disability and their families about what should be included in the next National Disability Strategy. A Position Paper has been released that outlines the feedback received so far. To read the Paper or find out how to make a submission please visit the website.
