19.01.2022 First day fishing today on Rotary Reel Time with new skippers Rex, Tony and Dave. A few dolphins were spotted and some crabs were reeled in, but it’s not crabbing season yet so they were given a tummy tickle and put back in the water. Unfortunately No fish for the pan today!

16.01.2022 Our new paddlers got out on the water tonight and tried out their new skills. After three weeks of pretty intense sessions they are well on the way to being gre...at paddlers. More freezing cold wind to test their resolve but they stuck with it and paddled into the inlet and made it back alive. Hoping to see them all back next week for more fun times out on the water. 16.01.2022 We're looking forward to Bunbury's waterfront continuing to transform. And so are local boating groups. The $78.1 million commitment from the State Govern...ment towards Stage Three, Phase One will focus on the delivery of critical infrastructure that will provide foundations for long-term growth. A key area of concentration will be the construction of new breakwaters at Casuarina Boat Harbour and Koombana Bay. This will support further land and marine infrastructure development. 13.01.2022 REPRESENTED WITH PRIDE The 6 Westcoast paddlers that took part in the Geo Classic took to the water in the biggest field of OC6s in living WAZA memory. 19 canoe...s took part in the mixed race with our crew finishing an honourable 8th. The day started off with our 3 lady paddlers filling in for other clubs, followed by Matt paddling in the mens 10km. We all rested while the juniors took their shot at glory. Then we took off! With our stead fast steerer who keep us straight and true and in clear water (All other canoes kept their distance knowing Daz's enjoyment of a little bit of bash and crash). Sonia kept the pace at a constant race speed and lifted when the call was made. Lisa in her first race for Westcoast, kept the timing of Sonia allowing for a smooth canoe. Dean was calling loud constant hups, while Gaynor was strong and silent in seat 5. The loud self appointed Drill sgt matt, was even heard by tourists on the Busso jetty. Overall our crew represented the club and that was our team goal. It was great to have our support crew there Bec and the boys cheering loudly, ready for hugs at the end of the race. Our amazing Photographer Andrea, again capturing the event for us and all other clubs. It was great to see Claire and her family come down to also support the team. Plus all other family members of our crew. We have a few events coming up in the future and it would be great to have a bigger represetation of the club. You just never know if you dont give it a go! Go Westies! See more
