02.01.2022 Some recent feedback from the Upwelling Festival committee: Once again the Upwelling Festival Committee is very grateful for the participation of the Koondoom Yarken dancers. As well as participating in the parade, you danced your interpretation of the Call and following the Call you performed an extended interpretation of the traditional relationship with whales; whereby a fire was used by the Kilcarer, Ure and Cart Gunditj clans to signal the presence of Kounterbuul in the ...bay and proceed to harvest the Kounterbuul for food. Great stuff - brilliant A special thank you to all the dancers, particularly the younger ones. Your dancers make a very valuable contribution to this community festival.
