22.01.2022 At Farmgate Market tomorrow we have the amazing Elephant garlic flowers ... attractive, long lasting and what's more ... edible! The Tassie Purple Garlic is fresh, hot and spicy, We also have the first of our plums. Plums ripen off the tree much like nectarines and peaches. Keep them in a paper bag so that they can breathe and be bathed in the ethylene gas they emit which determines their ripening. We have the last of our Creole garlic scapes as well as the usual range of garlic goodies. We also have a small supply of black garlic. In 2 weeks time we will have an ongoing supply as we have put the first of our 25kg loads on! A fresh and nutritious start to 2021! See you there. #farmgatemarket #drgarlic #blackgarlic #
18.01.2022 Geoff won't be back at Farmgate Market for a while as a family illness will require his attention. We aren't sure yet how long we'll be away for, but our online shop is still available should you want to order any of our garlicky goods. Stay well, stay safe and stay sane.
14.01.2022 Jesse will be at the wonderful Bream Creek Market this Sunday with our range of garlicky indulgences. This local market is full of great produce from local farmers, food artisans and just all-round lovely folk. Worth the trip :-)
05.01.2022 At Farmgate market tomorrow we will have the first of our new harvest of Tassie Purple garlic available as well as the last of our green garlic and scapes. We also have gift packs of Smoked Garlic and Pepperberry Tasman Sea Salt, Green Garlic and Lemon Myrtle Tasman Sea Salt and Wild Harvested Tasmanian Pepperberry. The hardwood carry shelves were manufactured for us by Oakdale Industries, a wonderful social enterprise in Hobart that provide meaningful training and employment opportunities for people with a disability. https://oakdale.org.au
01.01.2022 Sunday 14th sees DR Garlic return to our favourite market .... Farmgate Market in Bathurst Street. Jesse will be manning our stall every 2nd and 4th Sunday until we get back to a weekly roster. We have bid a sad farewell to the lovely and super intelligent Ashley who has gone to ANU in Canberra. Very much the capital's gain :-) The dynamic Luka will be assisting Jesse and entertaining customers with her in-depth knowledge of Greek mythology, garlic and how to be sassy and get away with it. We will have our usual array of garlicky goodies as well as fresh garlic, Kipfler potatoes and rhubarb.
