20.01.2022 EASTER VOLLEYBALL COMP On behalf of Lynne King: Hi Everyone,... With Easter just around the corner and time flying fast, it is that time for everyone to book their place in the Easter Volleyball Competition. With two teams already gone by the early birds I hope you can write back to me on my own email address [email protected] and reserve your team’s place. If you want to play and cannot form a team please just write to me. As always, I need our wonderful sponsors for the event and donators for the raffle. Let me know how much you want to sponsor the event for and remember every dollar helps. Could the parents with grown children please forward this email on to the next generation as I know the kids (grown now!) want to support the community and donations or sponsorship is an excellent way to help the community out. Also, let Sharyn know if you want to add additional email addresses to your family details so all the family can keep up to date with what's happening in Kooringal. For those who have done it in the past, my email address is still the same. I look forward to seeing you all on the beach on Easter Sunday. Hopefully we will see some new faces with the changes in property ownership. Come and show your support for your community. Cheers Lynne King

13.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION Dear Landholders We are all in uncertain times with the COVID-19 impacting us in so many ways. It is important as a community that we look out for each other and take any necessary precautions that are recommended to us by the relevant health authorities.... With Easter fast approaching we ask that in particular you ensure you have the necessary supplies, including medications which you may require to treat minor symptoms should you come down with the virus. The Royal Flying Doctor Service has informed us that the mild symptoms of the virus can be treated with Panadol. The World Health Organisation is recommending not to use Nurofen. On this basis we strongly urge you to ensure that you have the relevant dosage requirements of Panadol for all persons in your household, that is, infants, children and adults. If you do think that you have developed the symptoms and they are mild, please take all the necessary precautions recommended by the health authorities including strict quarantine. We have a number of elderly residents in Kooringal and it is vital we do not have an outbreak in our little community. If you do find yourself in quarantine/isolation because you have recently returned from overseas, have been exposed to someone with the virus, or have symptoms of the virus and need support let us know and we will do what we can to help. Remember there are significant fines for those persons who do not take quarantine seriously. The majority of our first responders fit into the vulnerable and most at-risk population. They therefore need to be kept particularly safe. We do not think they should have to attend a person with potential symptoms of the virus due to the significant risk they will face. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to make the necessary arrangements to leave the island if you develop symptoms. In a worse case scenario you will need to call 000 to have the QAS respond.

11.01.2022 Easter Volleyball cancellation Sadly, the decision has been made to cancel the volleyball competition for this year. We believe this is the only responsible option due to the current and predicted situation with coronavirus. Given that the coronavirus spreads by touch (players will have difficulty not touching each other), bodily fluids (ie perspiration) and can be spread on surfaces (ie the ball) it is a genuine risk to the players in each team and then their families by a...ssociation. If you have made a donation or paid for a team you have the option to either receive a refund or leave your payment in place ready for next year. If you require a refund please send your bank details to [email protected]

08.01.2022 Hi if anyone has room to bring over a 20 litre drum of petrol next time they are over for Tony Williams so that he can continue to mow the Helipad please let us know. We will reimburse you for the cost.

08.01.2022 Please take note of this notice from the Premiers Instagram Account. We have had a number of people contacting us asking if its ok for them to come. Please note this is not something we can advise you on. You need to make your own decisions regarding this based on the information published by the Premier and MSQ noting that the police have advised they will be at the ferry terminals and in the water turning back people that are not there for a valid reason. Also, if you ...do decide to go, normal social distancing rules apply and you do have a realistic chance of being fined if you are not abiding by the rules. This would include things such as gathering in groups on the beach or anywhere else - or in small groups of more than two if you don't live together. Once again, I do not know the intimate details however I can assure you there will be an increased presence on the island over the Easter Break and they will fine people that are not abiding by the restrictions. 06.01.2022 Sent on behalf of Lynne King: Hi Everyone, Can I have an expression of interest as to whether the Easter Volley Ball competition has your support for being held on the first weekend (long weekend) of October 2020. ... If there is enough interest I will talk to each team who had booked their place at Easter to see if they are interested in playing at this time. Please email your interest to Lynne at [email protected]

05.01.2022 Due to the real risk of a secondary COVID outbreak and the government requirements that are currently in place for those holding events - (social distancing, regulations and documentation regarding participants and visitors, hand sanitising etc) the committee have regretfully decided not to run the volleyball or the fishing competition this year. Whilst we as a community may feel that these regulations are not relevant or necessary for our events, the bottom line is that we (The Landholders Assn) as the event organisers could be fined for proceeding with these events without adhering to the required rules and regulations. We are sorry to disappoint and look forward to being able to get back to normal next year.

02.01.2022 Committee announcement from KLHA President Hi everyone As you know the Annual General Meeting is fast approaching. The committee positions are vacated and elected at the AGM on Easter Sunday.... I’ve been on the Executive Committee for five years now and the current committee is ready for a break. We will all be stepping down at the AGM and encourage others to apply for the roles of President, Treasurer and Secretary. We will all remain as committee members to assist the new team in the roles and to provide training to assist with the transition. I still intend to be involved in the events going forward and provide any assistance needed. Please talk to your friends - and put your hand up to take on these roles - whilst last year was particularly hectic - generally these positions are not particularly taxing. Attached to this email is the nomination form to complete and email to us by Thursday 2 April. For further information please give me a call 0419 040 492. Kind regards Paula Paula Gill - President Kooringal Landholders Association Email: [email protected] Phone: 0419040492
