24.01.2022 Koo Wee Rup Agistment's new arena is getting very close now. This is the space it will be on and it will be 60m x 40m. It will be closely followed by a new wash down area and holding yards. Slowly, slowly we are making improvements to the property. Things are coming along very well and quite quickly as we haven't been here for a year yet. Outside riders will be able to use the arena in one hour blocks and if there is a riding teacher looking for a venue, give me a call on 0412143372. I look forward to seeing some of you.

23.01.2022 Hi again from Penny and the beautiful Veurve. Just letting your know I dont have many places left so if you are looking for a safe and friendly agistment property, come and have a look. Its a beautiful day so Id better get out there and do some more work.

21.01.2022 Finally an update on Goldie, the pony I'm training. I got her as an un handled and very scared and untrusting pony with an incredibly disgusting coat. She is now a very confident and friendly pony with a beautiful coat. I haven't finished yet but she is almost ready to be broken in. She now has very good ground manners and will happily load on and off a float. I just have a few more things to get done which won't take much time then the next step is to prepare her for the saddle and rider. Here are a few pictures of what she looks like now.

21.01.2022 Ill soon be turning the shelters in some private paddocks into stables. Interested people will have a stable for their horse at night and a big well grassed paddock to run around in during the day. Of course we offer full care, part care or DIY. The amount of paddocks we put stables in will depend on interest so please let me know if you or anyone you know is interested. We are only a few minutes ride to the Koo Wee Rup Adult Riders Club.

20.01.2022 The new arena project is coming together nicely. It will be a 60m x 40m sand and flexi fibre topping. Adding the flexi fibre stabilises the sand and stops the horses hooves sinking into the sand. This makes life a lot easier for the horses giving a nice cushiony feel. Ill be back with another update soon. Very exciting.

19.01.2022 Yet another update on Goldy's training progress. Today I put the roller on her, no problem at all, tomorrow it will be putting a rug on her. She is doing so well considering where she started, love this smart, kind girl. #horsetraining

18.01.2022 Very important that you use quick release knots to tie up.

14.01.2022 Hi all you wildlife lovers out there!! We are just beginning the mad season of baby wildlife bering orphaned and adults being injured. I am calling out for anyone who would like to volunteer to become a shelter helper, transporter, rescuer or trainee carer for The Wild Ones Shelter. You will need to be committed to the time you choose to work, which is usually one morning, afternoon or evening per week. You will also need to join Aware Wildlife Rescue which is a networking and fundraising, not for profit and 100% volunteer run organisation. If you are interested in helping those who cant help themselves from human harm, please call Penny on 0412143372 or go to the AWARE Wildlife Rescue Website and fill out a volunteer application form: https://www.awarewildlife.org.au/activeinvolvement/. Thanks

12.01.2022 Well here we go, the beginnings of our new 60m x 40m arena! This is the area that will be used. The weeds have been sprayed, in a few weeks the area will be slashed and then we are on our way. This is so exciting, I will use it a lot for training. I am looking for a riding teach who is looking for an arena to hire for lessons. The arena will be available for members of the public to hire. Anyone looking for an arena to use for seminars and so on are welcome.

09.01.2022 Koo Wee Rup Horse Agistment offers a safe place for your horse. We have private or shared paddocks. We also train unhanded or difficult horses. Our new arena is about to be constructed. All enquiries are welcome.

08.01.2022 Wildlife Rescue...both heart breaking and rewarding ...today was a day of mixed emotions... We had a epic swan rescue involving 5 wildlife rescue volunteers; th...is was the second attempt to catch this poor swan who had a huge 2 metres of fishing line entangled around it...the rescue needed all 5 volunteers, a massive 20 metre net and one of our intrepid vollies to get out on the water on on her paddle board. Luckily the swan is likely to be OK as the fishing line had not become embedded in its skin nor done any nerve damage. ...and on the same day we had a call about a fledgling at Kananook Creek in trouble...but we were unable to save it from drowning... The rescue and care of vulnerable wildlife is a rewarding but profoundly challenging volunteer activity - and we are lucky at AWARE Wildlife to have such amazing everyday heroes as our volunteer wildlife rescuers and carers.

07.01.2022 Finally the million dollar barn is up!!!!! I now just need to get it set up inside then its ready to go. Next project is the arena. It will be 22 x 44 with a post and rail fence around it. Not long to wait now! So exciting.

07.01.2022 Meet my two rescue girls, Peppy and Veurve. They are walking around the common area between paddocks. At the back is the share paddock. As you can see, the common area is very wide, plenty of room for everyone.

05.01.2022 Introducing Goldie, she is a completely un-handled 2 year old. I have been feeding her for a few weeks so she is improved from when she first arrived but still is very fearful of being touched. You can see the very bad condition she is in, especially her coat. I am going to train her to be an amazing and happy horse to handle with no fear towards anyone. She will walk on a loose lead next to the handler, stand still to be groomed, have her feet and or teeth done, float. She will make a fantastic pony club pony. Ill video regularly to show her progress both health and fitness wise and education and trust.

04.01.2022 I would like to mention another service we offer at Koo Wee Rup Agistment. We get a farrier in every 8 weeks and a dentist twice a year. For your convenience I will bring your horses in and hold them for the farrier and dentist, if you cant make it on the day.

02.01.2022 A busy day coming up on Saturday. Its Horse Health Day at Koo Wee Rup Agistment. Everyone is worming, lice protecting and vaccinating against Strangles and Tetanus Well all be there between 10 and 12 to do our horses and have them checked off. Even though we will all be working hard, Im sure well have a good morning/afternoon if you have three horses like me. I might even make some treats to keep everyones energy up. See you on Saturday!!!

02.01.2022 Friendly and reliable horse agistment. From full service private paddocks with shelters to a 10 acre group paddock. Round yard, plenty of space, lunch area, feed and tack shed, bathroom, community vegetable garden, do some weeding or planting each week and share in the spoils and a sand arena will be completed by the end of November 2018.

02.01.2022 Let me introduce you to George, my new horse who I am training up to be an easy to handle and ride angel. He is a lovely boy, very friendly but needs a bit of ground work and to learn a few good manners. Ill keep you updated on his progress, so far he has mastered walking next to his handler on a loose lead and to stop, turn and wait in the same place right next to the handler. He can now also wait where he has been asked without fidgeting. He has a bit more to learn before I sell him to what I hope will be his forever home and give his owner a trouble free and loving experience.
