24.01.2022 So exciting to hear that Kooyong Squash Courts are open for bookings now and you can hit as soon as 6.00am tomorrow. Members can book now via the site and app' and it's already starting to fill up in prime spots so get a move on. Stay safe, warm up carefully, call your lets and have fun!

22.01.2022 Hi everyone....while the game is on the back-burner, you get the chance to have a say. Please complete the survey here as the more numbers we get the better it is for the game. Plus....it only takes 5 minutes and I have a feeling most of us could squeeze that into our busy schedule?

22.01.2022 Kooyong Squashies get ready to fly the flag in isolation! (In fact all Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club members and their families are welcome to enter if they wish) Squash & Racketball Vic is running a weekly, remote Game Show and the more who jump in to represent, the more chance our club could win big. We have some big brains at our disposal (thank goodness for our scholarship kids!). ... -WHAT IS IT? A quiz series with squash/racquetball biased, multiple-choice questions (plus a few other topics for good measure.) -WHEN?: Tuesdays at 7pm for a 12 week series. -HOW? Entry is easy at the link below and you'll just need to download the Mentimetre app (for iOS or Android) and get/have a Zoom account...both are FREE. You'll need to register each week and the cost is only $10 a round. You don't have to enter every round but obviously that would give the best chance of success for Kooyong. (A club's highest ranked player each week is counted in their tally.) Not only can you have some fun but you'll be helping our club and the squash community. 50% of your entry fee goes directly to your club and 30% is shared around clubs. 22.01.2022 All of us at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club miss our club's iconic aspects, one of which is our magical musician, Michael Daglish, also known as Mike Daglish. Here Mike performs Hotel Isolation, backed by the wonderful Sally. A pretty fine performance in the circumstances and particlarly impressive to have a backup singer, drum kit and disco lights while in iso'. You'll hear a couple of choice words but not too many and quite reasonable given he's been locked up for nearly a month! Enjoy

22.01.2022 After all professional tournaments were cancelled to end of June, in a major shock, Kooyong players make up the entire top 10 when April pro rankings were released.

20.01.2022 We were saddened to hear of the passing of a great footballer and Kooyong squash legend, Terry Waters at 76 years of age. Terry was known widely as Collingwood VFL Captain who played in Victorian teams and was an all-Australian who won the Copeland Trophy in 1966. At Kooyong and in the squash community he was loved for his warm and generous personality and many from our club will carry great memories of their time in his company, both on the court and off it. Our deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones, particularly his wife Jane, son Tom and daughter Charlotte.

20.01.2022 Squash Vic will be in strong hands when we are lucky enough to venture back out to hit the squash courts again. Last month Squash and Racquetball Victoria held its AGM in extraordinary circumstances via a Zoom conference. One agenda item was to elect a new board. In great news for squash and one we at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club are very proud of, our own, Sarah Fitz-Gerald was re-elected and has since been named President. Olivia Coles will be Vice President with other ...board members; Adrian Boden, Kevin Quick, Karen Cagliarini, Judy Kool and Leon Faustini. We will need strong leadership as we emerge soon and we wish Sarah and the new board much success.

16.01.2022 The passing of Bryan Bird is so incredibly sad and he will be missed terribly by all of us in the squash community and many beyond. He was absolutely tireless in his support of the sport and it's not just a trite saying to note that without his input, sweat and passion a lot of what we take for granted in our game would simply not exist. Never short of a word and always the first to lend a hand, he made life so easy for us by literally rolling his sleeves up and doing work. Irreplaceable., unforgettable and leaving a legacy that will continue to benefit all of us well into the future. We'll miss you Birdy!

Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club member Sam Blake used maths to solve a 50 year mystery and has made headlines around the world. Each to their own, I had fun. 13.01.2022 With open air training restrictions now relaxed, our scholarship players have been hitting the training track hard in anticipation of the next step...getting back to the game! Hopefully, all going well that won't be long and the hard work will pay off.

04.01.2022 Another sad post to advise that Dave Donelly passed away at his home on July 31. Many from KLTC will have fond memories of playing with and alongside Dave, but even more will remember him holding court at the bar. Dave was an airline pilot and often had flights arriving at Tullamarine about 7.30 so often cut it fine at pennant. One time his plane got diverted by fog to Mangalore, but regardless, Dave arrived at supper just in time for the Port. Dave was Australia’s firs...t WSF Referee, Chairman of the WSF Rules and Referees Committee for many years and the inaugural recipient of the Squash Australia Distinguished Service Award. Dave will be missed and we pass on our thoughts and condolences to his family.
