24.01.2022 We are closed today, Due to fire at Cockaleechie and unpredictable weather conditions, we made the decision to close. We know the fire has been down graded, we also need to stay vigilant if this should change. We do not want to put anyone at risk.... To all emergency services in attendance, stay safe.

23.01.2022 There is something for everyone at the Koppio Smithy Museum. Situated on just over 2.5 acres with eighteen buildings with beautiful displays of Lovingly preserved memorabilia of the past. You could quite easily spend a few hours wandering around looking at our extensive collection. We pride ourselves of offering a friendly and informative experience for all our visitors. We would really like to thank everyone that promotes the museum from local businesses, family, friends, volunteers and our visitors. We hope that everyone that visits takes away a special memory of their visit to koppio We are open today 10am till 5pm

14.01.2022 Tomorrow the koppio hall will be hosting a easter, pre-seeding get together with hot cross buns and an easter hunt for the kids, if you live in the area or just like hot cross buns (Yummy) get yourself there, all details are provided below, contact kerry and let her know if you will be attending, phone number on picture, time and cost. If your not a member of the hall and wish to be it will be a good chance to meet some of the people involved in keeping the hall going and learn of up coming events. Step back in time and see the wonders of a time gone bye, when there was no air conditioning, getting a glass of water to drink was harder and they had no refrigeration, oh how did they manage!!! 11.01.2022 Oh what a lovely start to the day. It is so beautiful out here in the morning, the yard is a hive of activity, birds, bee's and sleepy lizards all going about their business. Morning visit from the little kangaroo that stops by to have a little feast, he gets fairly close but as soon as I grab my camera he takes off, must be camera shy Rob has been busy getting his Christmas display up, he loves to get festive. Its going to look fabulous and will look great for passers by ... We are heading into holiday season and really hope that the current cluster of covid in Adelaide doesn't affect the operation of the museum in any way. They worked hard in those days, Nothing was easy, you couldn't just go to the shop and buy what you wanted, especially out here. ... 09.01.2022 Wow 6 day lockdown SA, its such a shame for everyone in SA Im sure that if we all adhere to the rules we will all be back to normality soon. Enjoy some quality time with your children, ring or FaceTime your family and friends especially those that live alone, ... We will be spending our 6 days doing a few jobs around the Museum that we haven't been able to get done due to being so busy over the past few months. 09.01.2022 Looking for something to do with family? This is the place to come, set on 2.5 acres nestled amongst the rolling hills of Koppio, the drive out is picturesque. Our grounds are a beautiful, we have large picnic area, with a bbq and pizza oven available for your use. Large tea and coffee room, 18 rooms for you to explore and discover a time gone past. Our shop has cool drinks, ice creams and an assortment of hot foods. ... So pack a picnic, grab some snags and jump in your car. Open today 10am till 5pm and everyday in the school holidays

02.01.2022 Beautiful morning out here today, the garden is coming along nicely and the lawn is still green...Thankyou rain gods Over the past 3 days we have put in a heap of new plants that in the coming months will add to the ambiance of the garden, freshened up the memorial garden and done a thorough clean of the rooms, Our recycled chalk drawing table has been a hit with the kids, We have been super busy since Christmas and are loving having so many visitors, Christmas day b...eing the only day we closed. Dean and Kath our wonderful volunteers came out and held the fort for a few days while we had family visit over new year, we also got a chance to get some jobs done around the museum while they were here. There is always something that needs doing We are open today 10am till 5pm

01.01.2022 This is just a friendly reminder it's 50km past the museum not 150km It doesn't matter if we are open or not. We have elderly people visit and parents with young children. I would hate to see anyone get hurt. Plus I don't want to deal with the aftermath if you loose control of your car and hit one of the large trees in front of the museum. So please slow down, we want you to get to your destination safely without hurting yourself or someone else
