14.01.2022 2020 Sydney Kimchi Festival In 22 November At 82 Brighton Ave. Cryodon Park The Korea Kimchi Festival will be held on 22 Nov 2020 at Korean Society of Sydney Memorial Hall.... This festival aims to become a source of harmony and sharing Korean kimchi culture with Australians of all backgrounds and provides a chance for online and offline visitors to directly experience it. This Kimchi-making Event is free and the kimchi made will be given to the participants and visitors to try and to take home. The festival was launched in 2014 to commemorate the 2013 inclusion of gimjang, or the traditional process of preparation and preservation of kimchi, on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. There will be a variety of programs including a Samulnori (traditional percussion quartet) concert, a Taekwondo (Korean martial art) performance, and kimchi-making performance where chefs will prepare and present foods using kimchi. There will be a free tasting session for visitors Participants of this event will be divided into four groups: Main chefs and celebrities, culinary students (from Le Cordon Bleu, and West Ryde TAFE), regular attendees, online attendees - 15 Participants at the location and 10 participants online (total of 25 participants). The 10 online participants will be shown on the screen while they participate from their homes in the kimchi-making process with the offline participants.
