25.01.2022 A woman whose mother died from carbon monoxide poisoning is calling for a gas heater found in homes around Melbourne to be banned. There's an urgent safety warning for the Vulcan Heritage as well as other newer models. #9News | Nightly at 6.00pm

24.01.2022 Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and recent announcements we will only be performing urgent essential works and by booking only. This means things like burst hot water units, gas leaks, blocked drains, or other issues that would cause personal or property damage. You will be asked screening questions prior to works being completed as we seek to protect our staff, families and the community.... We ask you to respect our workers and Social Distancing so we can minimise our time on site and to minimise exposure to you for everyone’s safety. We thank you for you patience and understanding in these difficult times. Together we can reduce the spread! Please contact us via phone on 0409851634 E-mail [email protected] Or Facebook/messenger

19.01.2022 Energy Safe Victoria has tonight released the following. Safety Alert is in place for both the Vulcan Heritage and Pyrox Heritage gas space heaters. These heaters have been found to produce dangerous levels of carbon monoxide when exhaust fans/range hoods are in use! ... If you own one of these units we recommend an upgrade to something safer! Dont hesitate to call us if you are not sure so we can identify what model you have!

16.01.2022 The following video is an example of why YOU need to have your wood heater chimney/flue inspected and cleaned yearly! Luckily in this case a chimney sweep/woodh...eater serviceman was passing the home and noticed the fire, allowing it to be extinguished before the home suffered any major damage. In 2017 CFA attended 121 chimney fires which is almost 10% of the preventable house fires CFA attended in Victoria. Many of these caused major damage or loss of the entire home. Chimney fires are caused by the accumulation of creosote. During normal use creosote builds up as a coating and when subjected to the normal heat from a fire it can eventually become thick enough to ignite with a very real potential of starting a fire. The very big risk with these fires is that they normally start in the roof space or wall cavity above smoke alarms, this means they can go undetected until they have grown to be substantial, causing major structural damage, the loss of your home or worse, lives. To prevent chimney fires we recommend all wood heater chimneys and flues are inspected and cleaned every 12 months by qualified personnel according to the manufacturers instructions. Note: Creosote is not only caused by general use, but it can also build up quicker if you are using incorrect fuels, such as green wood or treated timbers. Thanks to Ash from Chimaney Charoo for the video! For more home fire safety information please visit the CFA website here: https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/plan-prepare/fires-in-the-home #ServiceYourHeaters #PreventHouseFires
