19.01.2022 Hey there again Sunny Coasters .. I have had a really good chat with Mike Korsos, owner of Korsos Photography, based in the beautiful town of Nambour. From th...e age of 10, photography has always been a passion of Mikes. I saw a smile come to his face when he thought about his first camera, a Lomo, which he had in Hungary prior to migrating to Australia at the age of 15 with his family. Now Mike didn’t originally turn his passion into his business. Mike tried different careers across Hospitality, Construction, I.T. and Security until one day he thought to himself What am I doing here? I know my passion, so now make my passion my career. Korsos Photography was created, and the doors opened in 2005 in the original Maroochydore store, moving to Nambour in 2014. The key services that Korsos Photography provides are: Photography, Fine Art Printing using Giclee process, Artwork Reproductions to name a few. Mike does offer a long list of traditional printing Services, but the focus is on the artistic and creative side of the printing industry. One thing I found really cool is that Korsos Photography can develop film onsite (remember what film is?) and while I was there people actually walked in and bought some film. This really caught my attention. Mike is passionate about Photography and acknowledges that digital has it uses, and suites particular needs, but film is different. It is starting to make a come back in the younger generation as the difference is in the actual photo. Film is not a sequence of electrical charges. Film is physical. It is a chemical reaction which needs nature in the form of light to work . Pop in and have a chat to Mike about this and hear his passion. On the topic of passion, Mike loves to work with local Artists who want to turn their creations into prints to be able to sell at markets etc. But when we got on to personal passions, or what he loves to do outside of Photography, he can not go past his passion for Motorbikes. His dirt bike DRZ 400 and his road bike CBR 250are his pride and joy, and they will be joined with a Cruiser at some point once Mike makes up his mind. I really can not due Mike justice in this article ... there is so much to his Artistic / Creative background that I simply can not get into.
