25.01.2022 Today we used the new 15th tee. This will be a permanent tee, removing the need to move back to the red tee and forward to the green tee in winter. First group off today christened the tee, Jan Hewitt, Johanna van den Heiligenberg and Merrissa Cosson. Many thanks to our wonderful curator Chris Verboon and his assistant Tully Bernaldo and the hard working volunteer workforce who did much of the digging, planting and drainage works.

23.01.2022 Some good news...

22.01.2022 Due to the increase in covid-19 cases within our area the Women's match committee have decided to change our events for this month. Stableford rounds will be played on Wednesdays during August (5th,, 12th,19th and 26th). Members are reminded to wear protective face coverings during their rounds and in the clubhouse. They should also practice social distancing within and around the clubhouse. There will not be presentations after golf.

22.01.2022 After consultation with Chris Verboon the superintendent, and the prediction of rain tomorrow, and the heavy conditions over the last few days, it has been decided that Carts will not be allowed tomorrow at the Golf Course. Wednesday cart usage will be decided tomorrow. Hopefully this is the last week of rain and the weather will improve next week. Depending on the rain over the next few days, a decision will also be made about Thursday and Saturday a day before. Stay tuned.

17.01.2022 The following are the recommendations from Golf Australia for operating Golf Clubs. The following advice will be followed by the Golf Club. Based on verbal advice provided by the Victorian DHHS, Golf Australia recommends the following: All golfers must wear a face covering or face mask when playing golf across Victoria, unless they are affected by a relevant medical condition such as breathing difficulties (e.g. Asthma), a serious skin condition on the face, a disability or... a mental health condition. GA strongly recommends that all clubs/facilities direct players, staff and volunteers to wear a face covering that must stay on whilst at the club/facility and if playing, for the duration of their round. It is recommended that upon arrival all players are asked to wear a face covering and are asked to leave the facility immediately if they are not wearing a face covering, unless they are affected by a relevant medical condition. It is recommended that clubs/facilities seek a medical certificate or other proof of exemption for players who state they have a valid reason not to wear a face covering. All club/facility employees and volunteers must wear a face covering whilst at the club/facility. It is the responsibility of clubs/facilities to ensure that employees and volunteers are wearing a face covering while at the club/facility. Face coverings can be removed while eating and drinking. 16.01.2022 Unfortunately the storm that blew through last night has set back the drying of the golf course with the wind on Thursday. Chris Verboon has assessed the conditions today, and as the pics show, the course is just too wet to allow carts without further damage to the course. This is especially the case on the 4th & 16th. Every effort was made to open up the course to carts. I hope our members will understand.

16.01.2022 Update on conditions of the Golf Course: Due to consistent rain over last few days conditions are still too wet for Golf Carts for Tuesday’s play. Wednesday’s status will be updated tomorrow.

14.01.2022 From Golf Australia: Stage 3 restriction in Regional Victoria Update 5th August 2020 On Sunday, August 2, the Victorian Government announced that Regional Victoria will return to stage 3 restrictions from 11:59pm Wednesday, 5th August. The impact on clubs and facilities is as follows; Golf Operations... Based on advice published on the DHHS website and verbal advice received from the Victorian Government, Golf Australia recommends that: Groups will be limited to two people unless they all reside in the same household. For the avoidance of doubt, groups of three or four will only be allowed if all members of the group reside in the same household. Club competitions must not be conducted, but handicapping of scores through non-contact means is allowed GA has engaged in depth on this topic with the Victorian Government as competition golf is a key aspect of club/facility life across the state. It was confirmed to GA that competition golf is unable to be conducted under Stage 3 restrictions. Club/facility driving ranges, putting greens and chipping areas cannot operate unless a distance of at least 100 metres between groups of 2 can be maintained. No hire equipment, including golf clubs, pull buggies, golf carts or range balls may be made available for hire under any circumstances Exception: Golf carts may be hired to a person who has a disability, or who is over the age of 65, or who can demonstrate that they require one due to having special needs. (Note: players are permitted to bring and use their own cart, however the one person per cart limit applies.) A one person per cart limit, unless both riders live in the same household and both meet the criteria as listed above. Clubs/facilities are required to thoroughly clean the carts before and after each use. 1 to 1 coaching can continue in a non-contact, socially distanced setting Indoor coaching is not permitted If you are not doing exercise or a physical activity where you are out of breath or puffing then you must wear a face covering. You must carry a face covering with you and wear it before and after you exercise. Clubhouse Operations Clubhouses must close for food and beverage service. Clubs & facilities may trade for takeaway service provided they can meet all physical distancing conditions in doing so. Golf Service Centres/Pro Shops must limit the number of people within the facility to comply with the requirement for patrons to keep a minimum of 1.5 metres apart.
