24.01.2022 A Word for Tired People When we open the Word of God, we open our hearts to receive wisdom, guidance and peace. Psalm 23 is prayer of protection, affirmation and assurance, which can be comforting in our current era of uncertainty. Do you have another verse which has been comforting during the time of the pandemic? Psalm 23... A psalm of David The LORD is my shepherd, therefore I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his names sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. #psalm23 #spiritualcare #holisticwellbeing

16.01.2022 The Impact of One Read about the value a chaplain brings to their school community, as written by two staff members to one of our chaplains earlier this year. Jeremy* thank you so much for following through with this wonderful response. Many thanks. I was concerned as to where [Philippa*] was at currently, and feel happy that someone with the skills and caring could do something positive for her. You are a gem. I think you've achieved something in one day that we've attempte...d to get done for some time now. I'm sure Philippa*, in her own quiet way, will be so thankful too. Cheers and again thank you, Jeremy.*" Then days later, after my second meeting with the student, this email from her teacher, "Hi Jeremy*, I just wanted to say thank you for your work with Philippa*, what you have been able to do in a short amount of time is nothing short of amazing. I have had real trouble connecting with her and I feel like the support you are offering will have a massive positive impact."

15.01.2022 Anchored for Life The word anchor only receives one mention in the Bible but it offers much comfort especially in times such as these. An anchor is a simple and clear metaphor of strength, stability and hope when we venture into the vast ocean of life.... If we anchor our thoughts and fears on the cross of Jesus, we are then free to live life out of His love. #anchor #godisourstrength #lovewins #safehaven #faithcommunity
14.01.2022 Place your hope in God the Father who knows exactly what you need at exactly the right time. The Father cares deeply about his children and all their needs, desires and dreams. And as you trust in the Lord's goodness with unshakeable certainty, you will become a living hope-bearer to each person you encounter. #hope #trustGod #allwillbewell
14.01.2022 When things are falling apart around us in our homes, workplaces, families, friendships, health or finances it can be challenging to have hope. The Book of Hebrews encourages us to look upward and onward and know that this too shall pass. For Christians, we can have hope, because we trust in an unchanging God.

13.01.2022 The Emotional Rollercoaster Called COVID-19 A May 2020 report called 'Understanding the Impact of COVID-19 on the Emerging Generations' provides interesting insights into the range of emotions being experienced by Australians during the pandemic. Anxiety was the most common emotion across 18-74 year olds.... Chaplains and Connectors play a key role is responding to this increased need for psychosocial support. 13.01.2022 We Can All Do Our Part We all have a role to play in generating a proactive and community-centric response to a world hurting from the fallout from COVID-19. Some really helpful insights can be gleaned from David Crosbie, CEO of Community Council for Australia in a recent Pro Bono Australia article. See some excerpts below: Australian charities have demonstrated in this crisis that they are effective advocates to governments. [We need charities to be] able to pivot and focus... their efforts on stronger local connections and support There has been a choir of voices, mostly singing variations on the same theme: the need to ensure as many charities as possible can continue to serve their communities through COVID-19 and play a critical role in rebuilding our communities in the months and years to come One of the actions I believe is needed is a positive campaignin relation to the role of charities as keepers of values, wellsprings of hope, care and belonging. The theme of how important charities are in a crisis and beyond should have strong resonance with the Australian community. 11.01.2022 What emotions are you currently experiencing? Is fear one of them? Its very human to feel fear, especially in a pandemic! However, peace is a decision it is a state of grace and a posture we can choose to accept or reject. The Bible assures Christians that we can turn to God who comforts our mind, heart and soul when the storms of life hit, and we will be renewed with a new strength and peace of mind.... #choosepeace #wellbeing #faith #spiritualcare #selfcare
11.01.2022 Peace, Joy, Life It is assuring to know that as Christians, despite the highs and lows of life we can have peace and joy in all circumstances. This is because Gods grace is enough and He gives us food for the journey one day at a time. ... All you need to do is trust and surrender each moment of your day to God and in return you will receive a life of abundance. #john1010 #lifetothefull #abundance #justbelieve #onedayatatime #trust
