For the first time leaders of the retirement living industry, from all over Australia, gathered in Perth for this event. Speakers of the panel included ML MacDonald from Masonic Care, Kirrily Lord from Stockland, Jane Monk from Gannon Lifestyle Group, Michael Rabey from Boyuan Holdings and Peter Nilsson from The Village Glen. . The panel reflected on critical issues they have ...confronted in the past and see in the future, and also spoke about nationwide actions including the 8-point-plan and new contract models. . The main topic of discussion today was the mandatory buy-back clauses planned to be introduced into WA in the near future, which are already in place in NSW, QLD and SA. 09.01.2022 Our aged care project Italian Aged Care had its official opening on the weekend, comprising of a short mass and tour of the completed facility. . Members of the community, staff and Board attended along with a few special guests. . The Abruzzi Immigration Association of WA donated a chair (pictured), which was the last of their remaining funds before they closed doors.... . It was great to hear comments from the families of Board members, who had been hearing about the new development for a while and were seeing it for the first time, saying it completely exceeded their expectations. . 05.01.2022 After going through the COVID-19 lockdown we are back on social media, sharing with you and the world what we love to do and why. . We have learnt a lot from the pandemic, the lockdown and the challenges it presented. We have learnt how resilient and strong our team are, how quickly we can adapt to change and how to move forward in these unprecedented times. The pandemic has brought a lot of struggles, but through these struggles positive outcomes have appeared. The ability ...to work from home, to utilise computer technology to conduct meetings, presentations and day to day office contact. In our personal lives we have used the outdoors more, got our health into swing, started cooking chef inspired meals and spent quality time with our families, even if it was painful at times. . As construction continued through the lockdown, our Opal Treeby project is nearing practical completion and will be handed over to Opal Aged Care in the coming days. It was a different construction experience with the pandemic, however we are proud of the finished product and the team work produced with Opal Aged Care, Perkins Builders and the design team. The entire team adapted to change quickly, which helped produce an aged care home we can all be proud of. . The two new dwellings will be home to six residents who have a disability, and provide them with care on site. . As well as meeting the SDA Design Guidelines it features disability specific features including automatic doors and blinds, technology compatibility, electric benches and basins and sen...sory gardens. .
