25.01.2022 Long weekend coming up for most! While Saturday doesn’t look so great the rest of the long weekend looks really good for a ride in the Kraken out to Refuge Cove. Look for dolphins and seals and try to name the multitude of Birdlife we see along the way. Hop off at the cove for an hour for a walk, swim, snorkel or bring a picnic and just enjoy lazing on the lovely beaches of the cove. Check out the great rabbit island cliff caves on the way back and all in all just enjoy the freedom of being out on the water. What a great way to celebrate the long weekend. Trips available Sunday Monday and Tuesday. Maybe Wednesday - see what the weather says about it.

21.01.2022 Well the weather is getting colder down here in South Gippsland but don't let that put you off. It means the winds are mostly calmer and the seas a bit more gentle than in the summer. The last few trips have had lovely swells which the Kraken just loves riding and makes for a nice easy comfortable trip. So get out the coats, beanies and scarves and head out for a great trip down the Prom coast.

18.01.2022 Perfect weather this long weekend for the Refuge Cove trips and a couple of shorter sightseeing trips around Corner Inlet and the northern coast of the Prom. We are happy to work in with your time schedule down here and tailor a trip to your requirements as long as the weather is suitable. This is the Kraken heading out of Port Welshpool this morning on a trip to beautiful Refuge Cove. What a gorgeous day for it.

17.01.2022 Gorgeous day to be out on the water. Keep an eye out for photos later.

17.01.2022 Why not treat yourselves to a wonderful couples day with our private tour. We can whisk you away to lovely Refuge Cove where you can take your picnic lunch on the beach, wander through the bush, take the cliff top walk with it’s amazing views over the cove or just swim and relax. We are open to suggestions if you would like to see the lighthouse as long as the weather permits. Look out for dolphins and seals along the way and enjoy being out on the water in your private charter boat. The only limitations to your day out are your imagination and our south Gippsland weather! Call us to discuss options - we pride ourselves of being flexible to ensure your day out is as enjoyable memorable as possible.

16.01.2022 We have a trip going out to Refuge Cove this Friday (25th January) leaving Port Welshpool at 10:00 am. We have four available seats. It’s going to be a hot one. Why not join us and have a swim at this amazing Prom beach and enjoy a fun boat ride to boot!!

14.01.2022 If you’re heading down to south Gippsland for the long weekend why not hop aboard the Kraken and cruise down along the prom coastline to beautiful Refuge Cove. Look for dolphins, seals and a huge array of Birdlife along the way. Take a picnic and enjoy time off the boat to wander the cove and enjoy your lunch on the beach. Saturday not looking good (unless of course you’re a windsurfer or kiter) but trips available Sunday Monday and Tuesday. Check us out on trip advisor under things to do in foster and plan to spend a magical day on the water. See more photos on our Prom Coast Discovery Tour pages.

14.01.2022 Had a great afternoon of fun doing rides with the volunteers of Manna Gum community House in Foster. Manna Gum is such a great place and helps so many people and we were happy to be involved in celebrating the Christmas breakup with their volunteers

14.01.2022 At this stage the weather is looking really good for Easter so if you’re looking for some fun and adventure on the weekend why not join us for a trip out to Refuge Cove. Beautiful spot for a picnic, a walk or a swim and a fun boat ride added into the mix. Look for local wildlife along the way and enjoy being out on the water.

11.01.2022 Word from the local fishermen last night is that there is a whale in Corner Inlet. If you're keen to have a look for yourself and go on a whale sit in cruise around the inlet, let us know. We are happy to look at a trip that might suit.

11.01.2022 Weather looking pretty good for most of the coming week for a great trip to Refuge Cove on the Kraken. Minimum of 4 for our basic trip but check out www.krakentours.com for our personal trips for 2. Start your Christmas holiday fun early and book a trip with us.

08.01.2022 Had a great trip out from Port Welshpool down along the eastern coast of the Prom. The boat did a nice meander around Rabbit Island. Check out the photos of the great caves in the island’s cliffs. Had a cheeky wave from a seal but despite all my efforts I could not get him to stay still long enough for a photo. Best part of Kraken Tours’ trips is the flexibility and personalised trips. We don’t have a set time or route. We generally run to Refuge Cove and give our passengers an hour or so off the boat to explore this gorgeous spot but we also veer off to any points of interest to our passengers as long as the weather is agreeable. If conditions aren’t great for down to the cove there are lovely beaches to explore on the northern coast of the Prom. Possibilities are endless!

03.01.2022 What have the beach-nesting birds team been doing this weekend? Dodging the rain and surveying the magnificent barrier islands within Corner Inlet! While they m...ight seem like remote and pristine islands, sadly our monitoring, only in its early stages, is revealing so many introduced threats. Weeds that are spreading, hog deer foraging on and killing the native dune plants, and foxes predating nests. Surveying these islands is hard work! We walked 23km in one day, searching every inch of sand for birds and prints. We look forward to telling you about what we find as the season progresses! Thanks to the marvellous Kraken Tours for being so accommodating and safely getting us out there and back! Pouring over tide charts and weather forecasts to get the timing right!!!
