20.01.2022 On Monday night krambach brigade got together for a presentation night run by Nathan. The members of the brigade who fought the fires in the horrific months of last year were given gratitude by receiving an award and medallion in honour of all the hard effort and countless hours every volunteer put in, wether it was food catering, battling the fires or just helping out were they could. We would like to thank Nathan Birchall for all his dedication and commitment he has pu...t in and is always a phone call away if we need anything, A thank you to our captain Clare Broniman who spends countless hours at the station and in her own time to get nights like these organised. And a thank you to all our crew who turn out everytime the pager goes off wether it be 1am or 4pm, without all of these dedicated people we wouldn’t have what have or be were we are. Also a thank you to the community for all the support you have given us in recent tough times.

01.01.2022 On this day last year NSW recorded 17 concurrent Emergency Warnings. Communities in the Blue Mountains, Clarence Valley, Richmond Valley, Walcha, Armidale, Namb...ucca, Kempsey, Tenterfield, and the Mid Coast were all being impacted by fire. At 6pm 94 fires were burning across the state. While the losses on that day were significant they could have been far worse were it not for the extraordinary efforts of firefighters and community members. See more

01.01.2022 Are you an Australian resident living with disability or chronic health conditions, or care for someone who is? The NSW Rural Fire Service is working with the U...niversity of Sydney who are carrying out a project supporting people with disability to prepare for, respond to and recover from an emergency event such as bush fires, pandemics and floods. The researchers are keen to know how prepared you are for an emergency, what you can do for yourself and what supports you need in an emergency. You can take part by completing an online survey: People with disability: https://redcap.sydney.edu.au/surveys/?s=ML4LC3KMEF For carers: https://redcap.sydney.edu.au/surveys/?s=N9MCMYJDCX If you prefer to speak to someone, please email your name and contact number to [email protected] This research will support NSW RFS and other emergency agencies to better educate and support communities on how to plan and prepare for, and respond to, emergencies and natural disasters. Please share with anyone you know who might be interested in supporting the research. The survey closes on 31 March 2021.
