13.01.2022 If you missed it..... At this last Cowboy Xmas Daniel Peter Robinson from DPR Breaking had returned to defend his title at The Real Deal Horseman's Challenge. This sweet but sensitive well-bred filly by GunnerReload had trouble accepting the saddle on the second night of competition. The following night Daniel impressed us all by putting the competition aside and opting to seek the judges advice to develop this filly for a positive future as a performance horse rather than... push her through her trouble with limited time on the clock. Although Daniel had a positive ride on her for the Finale, he later approached owner Mick. They both agreed a talented filly should have the extra time she deserves and Daniel having started a relationship with her took her home to his facility. With the support of Castlereagh Feeds & K Ranch Arena she has spent the last 6 weeks with Daniel. Great results! We can't help but feel it was meant to be!

They carry physical, mental, and emotional handicaps. They carry hopes and dreams; and they will carry the stress from your day when you can't carry it anymore. They carry graduations, they carry new careers, they carry moves away from everything familiar, they carry marriages, they carry divorces, they carry funerals, they carry babies before they are born, and sometimes they carry the mothers who cannot carry their own baby. They carry mistakes, they carry joy, they carry the good and they carry the bad. They carry drugs and addictions, but they also carry the celebrations. They will carry you to success when all you have felt is failure. They will carry you, never knowing the weight of your burdens and triumphs. If you let them, they will carry you through life, and life is hard, life is heavy. But a horse will make you feel weightless under it all. I did not write this. 03.01.2022 Western to its soul, the sport of Cutting was first a fundamental tool used on any ranch at a time when neighbours did not know their properties edge by fences & livestock roamed on the open lands. Twice a year, ranchers would deploy from their homesteads to retrieve their herds which they would know by brand. The first recorded cutting competition was held at the 1898 Cowboy Reunion in Haskell, Texas. K Ranch was privileged yesterday to boast some of the true gentlemen & wom...en of Australia’s cutting & as the event rolled out we banded together declaring an almost perfect match. Our rough rodeo edges softened as we formed new relationships with our beloved equine community. These cutters demonstrated not only the elite possibilities of partnership between a horse & a cowboy but also the unmistakable investment that they have made to their heritage, the sport itself & the first-class breeding of a cutting horse. Although, hundreds of years on & without the vast open Texas plains you could still feel the magic as each competitor swooped gracefully into the herd to make a cut. Each horse respecting his mount to pick the cow to keep from his herd & as each rider lowered their hand to give the horse his signal to work, each horse opening his heart & intent to please. You couldn’t help but fall in love. Each rider had their very best ranchers at the herd’s side to support in turning the cow back to the working horse. These men are their closest rivals for the top prize but support each other with enthusiasm & respect. A trait that K Ranch finds as its founding principle & that of any great cowboy or horseperson.
