25.01.2022 Yes it’s the perfect way to protect your peace . . .... Some people love chocolate cake, some like cheese & crackers. Some people love the coarse language, drug references & sex scenes and some would rather the National Geographic channel Some people make their beds daily and that sets them up for their day, some rush out in the morning darkness to a 6am training session for the best start to their day. Some Mamas put their toddlers in front of the TV & some would rather not. Some people fold and some people scrunch Some people count calories and some eat intuitively Some people love writing & sending Christmas Cards and some don’t. There are two sides to every story and then there’s the truth. You know the saying....’opinions are like as*holes....everybody has one’, well isn’t it true? We are all going to do things differently, there is no right or wrong. The sooner we realise that other people’s opinions are not our reality, as soon as we realise other people’s opinions have nothing to do with us, the more peace we create for ourselves. 21.01.2022 Talking ‘BOUNDARIES’ this morning on the Krave Glow Up with Counsellor Carmen Debono. A subject that becomes a little more relevant around Christmas time when a lot can be expected of us emotionally, physically & even financially. A boundary is an invisible ‘barrier’ - limits beyond which you will not go and beyond which others are not welcome. ... How much of ourselves do we allow people to see? When the walls are too high we are at risk of being lonely, however, when we have no boundaries people can do, say & behave towards us as they want. It’s important to be able to set boundaries to protect our space and protect our peace. With each boundary set we learn that there will be consequences and we must wrestle with the consequences to then make our decisions & set our boundaries. Our boundaries can be personal, professional, emotional, physical or even digital. Self awareness helps us determine our limits & permissions and we look to set boundaries making self care a priority. Ways to communicate your boundaries: I have a problem with that I don’t want to I’ve decided not to I’d rather not I’ll think about it Yes, actually I do mind I’d prefer not to That’s unacceptable Protect your space and protect your peace @carmendebono.com.au will be talking more on boundaries on her podcast this week.

Yes.....read it again... ....and it’s for this reason you should find yourself a coach who will ‘teach’ you about nutrition and give you the ‘knowledge’ to fuel your body and ‘navigational skills’ to steer your ship!
19.01.2022 Happy Birthday to Carol who turned 73 years old last Friday! I met this amazing lady about 9 years ago at a school where she was teaching pre-schoolers and I was teaching DanceFit. What a surprise I got a couple of years ago when she called me to say she’d retired, moved closer & would like to join Krave ... I’m honoured to train some amazing women in their 70’s. They are my inspiration and everything I aspire to be and I love them dearly. They just don’t make them quite like this anymore!! They never complain, they don’t have excuses, they are tough, they are wise, they are caring, they are determined, they give everything a go, they remain positive, they never compare and they are dash good bakers! Carol, Viv, Lilly and Gail you are everything we aspire to be. Thank you for being such amazing role models for myself & the entire Krave Tribe!

14.01.2022 Abstinence makes the heart grow fonder and the cravings stronger! I love a good pizza & margarita and I love ice cream & chocolate! When I have it - I do a little dance...I totally enjoy! Rather than eat junk food mindlessly, plan a meal or treat & enjoy it! No guilt, no judgement just enjoy knowing that for 80-90% of the time you’re fuelling your body with nutritious food. ... If you find that you are indulging too much, you can reduce your consumption of junk food by leaving it on the supermarket shelf and making the trip especially when you’d like a treat and practicing portion control.
12.01.2022 Oh tonight’s Bar Class was tough and now you know why I could never submit to Pop Sugar Fitness! Haha! We used the step tonight for tricep dips throughout the class (6 sets in total) & a common mistake is not actually bending the arms and instead moving through the pelvis. So the triceps are the muscle of the upper arm that runs along the back of the arm on the other side the bicep (also referred to by many women as bat wings, tuck shop arms and bingo wings....so weird).... So....to do this correctly....you really want to lower yourself & bend the elbows between about 45 and 90 degrees. Keep your booty close to the step, shoulders down, away from your ears & keep your chest open through the movement. I like to try and imagine magnetising the elbows behind my back and if you want to make it a little more challenging you can always straighten out the legs!
10.01.2022 Sunday Glow Up Talk Today we talked with Counsellor Carmen Debono about courage and what it can look like. Going around the table we learnt that courage can be anything from stepping out of your comfort zone, speaking your truth, just being yourself, saying ‘yes’, saying ‘no’, standing up for yourself, defending yourself, not defending yourself or even just walking away. ... WOW! This gave us something to think about. What stops us from being courageous? Most commonly fear of failure, fear of what others will think? This always gets me thinking....we have one life to live - let’s live our truth, let’s do all the things we dream of doing, let’s live happily, secure & confident in what is right for us as individuals. As Counsellor Carmen pointed out, courage isn’t always about the ‘big’ decisions. Courage can be just getting out of bed or just ‘showing up’. This week Counsellor Carmen has asked us to acknowledge our micro moments of courage. Eg. Putting your hand up to speak, answering a question honestly or just showing up. Even when you’re feeling less brave you can reap the benefits of bravery in micro moments & sometimes the benefits come after the task is over & even forgotten. I hope this mornings talk has inspired you to make moves and exercise your courage. Courage is like a muscle. Keep working it to increase flexibility & strength for the next time it’s needed. ** REGISTRATION for our last Glow Up of 2020 opens tomorrow Monday 16th November.

You’ve been training hard, eating well & the scales are down....consider: Is it water from lack of carbohydrates/glycogen? Is it water from dehydration? Is it that big poop ? Is it body fat? Did you lose precious lean MUSCLE? Who the F knows? The sooner you realise that all the victories in your health, fitness & well-being journey have zero to do with the scale is when you fall in love with living your best life!
