03.01.2022 A N N O U N C E M E N T I’ve just decided (after weeks of deliberation) that I am going to run the Adelaide marathon in May with one sole purpose - to raise mon...ey for the Embrace Kids documentary. FYI- I am not a natural runner, I find running hard, my brain for almost the entire run thinks about wanting to walk - BUT I am so motivated to finance this film because there are many kids who NEED it. I hope you will all come with me on this journey it’s going to be tough but if we can reach the $500,000 finance deadline by May, (Currently at $21,515) we can start production in June and get Embrace Kids to those young children who desperately need to be inspired and educated to embrace their bodies. I will be setting up a marathon funding page in the near future but for now I wanted to publicly share this news before I change my mind! It’s 40 degrees (over 100) in Adelaide which is making training quite unbearable...um and it’s week one! No turning back now... it’s marathon time! I was inspired to run my first marathon in Melbourne three years ago, fuelled by the trolls who judged my body for being fat and unhealthy, I wanted to include footage in Embrace the doco to give them a loving middle finger. This time I’m inspired to run to change more lives. I’m running for love. I’m running for the child in you that hated her/his body. I’m running for the kids that aren’t eating, that are dieting, that are suffering from mental illness because of the hate they feel for their bodies. I’m running for those that think they’re not enough. I’m running for hope. I’m running for you, I’m running for us, I’m running for the kids. The road has never felt longer but we’ve got this - right team? Love Taryn Brumfitt xxx
