01.01.2022 Today marks the 75th anniversary of the Ku-ring-gai Library Service. Having adopted the Library Act (1939) in 1944, Ku-ring-gai Council opened its first municipal public library in the Council Chambers at Gordon on the 24th November 1945. The library held over 4000 books including both adult and children’s collections. Other milestones for the library service have included the opening of Lindfield Library in 1954, St Ives Library in 1961 and Turramurra Library in 1968.
