24.01.2022 Great initiative from Bunbury best (purely my opinion) coffee house.

24.01.2022 Would love to hear peoples thoughts on the CDB action plan. There has been some critical media attention that has led to community feedback over the potential reduction of sections of Blair st to one lane either way, but very few comments about the rest of the plan. Ive listened to more than a few residents recently wanting pedestrian priority in the CBD, do you agree or should we keep it to a major 4 lane vehicle thoroughfare? Here are some images from the Plan which you ca...n access in full on the Citys website. I would like to know particularly if you have read the document, and what you think about the 4 pillars, and 11 objectives as displayed in the image here, as the planning & design work is about much more than the work on the Blair st road itself. I have lived in Bunbury my whole life and lot has changed, that area around the train station has not. It needs work I think this action plan if resolved and designed well could really transform the CBD. See more

23.01.2022 For those who have not heard, I am officially campaigning for a seat in Council at the upcoming local government elections. My aim is to contribute to the leadership of this great city through influence, strategic visionary decision making & hopefully by just bringing some more common sense to the table. Please get in touch if you have genuine concerns youd like addressed, and represented in council.

20.01.2022 Great to hear continued support for important community groups in Bunbury. Well done Don Punch and thank you Minister Simone McGurk for coming and hearing whats happening locally.

20.01.2022 This is the kind of vision Bunbury needs. It may not be the exact future- but it's positive visionary leadership from people who know it's actually possible. A future like this requires more 'can do' people of influence to step forward.

20.01.2022 Thankyou to all 2134 people who voted for me, I'm sorry it wasn't quite enough. We ran a great campaign, I felt we gave it a good nudge. I'm so thankful for all the support we've received and congratulations to all the elected councilors and to Gary Brennan on another term as Mayor! I'll continue to believe in the people of Bunbury, and influence our future whenever and wherever I can.

18.01.2022 Its National Recycling Week and we will be posting daily tips on how to up your recycling game. Todays tip is to make sure you empty and rinse bottles ...and containers with lids removed. Make sure your recyclables are empty, clean and dry before you throw them in the yellow top bin. When recycling is clean, we can recycle more of it! Containers with lids often still retain a small amount of liquids in them, which then contaminate the recycling loads when they are opened. Small plastic lids such as those from milk, water and soft drink bottles cannot be recycled in kerbside bins. Items smaller than the palm of your hand will fall through the grates at the Material Recovery Facility and wont be recycled. Steel lids can be captured by magnets at the Materials Recovery Facility. Small plastic lids can be taken to our Household Recycling Collection Points for single stream recycling. Check out our near me function on the My 3 Bins app to find out where these can be taken. Our Waste Education Officers will be at the Parks Centre from 10am to 1pm today. Bunbury residents can pick up a free eco kitchen recycling bin.

18.01.2022 Leadership isn't about making all the decisions, and it's not even about making the right decisions... It's about ensuring the best possible decisions are made.

18.01.2022 Seeing the final touches going on the new shelter for the homeless today brings me great joy. Can't say there's much else to be more proud of, than the City of ...Bunbury council being in full agreeance for this to go ahead. Whilst this is certainly not the final solution for our homeless community, it's a step in the right direction. See more

15.01.2022 I pray for residents all over Bunbury at this time, that you would be at peace in such trying times. For those struggling alone, may someone find you in support. For parents- may you have rest, for families- may you experience peace, for Business owners- may you have wisdom. For those in government, education & health, may the Lord strengthen you. And for all of us, may we unite as one community & stay grateful for life & one-another. "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. Jesus.

14.01.2022 Residents of Bunbury, I was born here, raised here, and have never left the city. I have a background in small business, owned and run my own, & understand the challenges. I've been married for almost 12 years, am a father of 4 with a mortgage and all the real world challenges you're also facing. I need your support, and your vote to represent you on council. Drop me a message or call this week if I can help with anything.

13.01.2022 Id like to take a moment to acknowledge & commend our CEO, directors, managers and all city staff at every level & team, during a very tough time as an organisation & community. Leadership matters always, but its times like these that quality leaders step forward and lead with sacrifice and selfless decision making. Over the last 7 days and more, Ive seen personally how our city CEO has, with sincere dedication, displayed these attributes. At tonights council briefing sess...ion there was a great sense of unanimity around some critical council decisions. Conflict will always exist, and is neccessary. But through positive conflict resolution comes deeper commitment to each other, and this is very different to basic agreement, it is forged. There is no such perfect leader. Whilst some are taking this opportunity to bash leaders at a national, state & (hopefully not yet) local level, I would implore anyone and everyone to lead with unity, and a spirit of togetherness, as we will all need to shoulder the burden of this season together. Much of tonights discussion was around readiness to shoulder our portion. Bunbury community, may I ask you speak well of our council, our Mayor, our CEO & our staff whenever you can, despite your views of past experience. Were in this together. God bless.

13.01.2022 If you haven't donated blood yet - and yours is good to save lives. Get to it! What are you waiting for? It only takes 30 mins or so, and you get to sit back and recline whilst the good folks at Red Cross host you with food and drinks!

12.01.2022 Residents of Glen Iris, I live & have worked in Glen Iris, & have done so for the best part of 30 years. I am the best positioned candidate for the City of Bunbury to represent you on issues such as; 1. The development of the Moorlands side of Vittoria road, & making sure abundant public open space and amenities are incorporated. 2. Reducing crime & vandalism. 3. The noise & smell pollution coming from picton industrial estate.... 4. Traffic on Vittoria rd, and the Dodson road intersection black spot. 5. Any teething problems with the step-up/step-down mental health service on Vittoria Rd. Please allow me the opportunity to support you and the needs in Glen Iris.

11.01.2022 I was honoured last week to join with some of Bunbury's finest community leaders, to a round-table discussion with the minister for Innovation, science, forestry, tourism (& a host of others) David Kelly. I was humbled by the attitude of these leaders, many of whom do not seek the spotlight & are busy working for their respective communities, yet brought healthy feedback to the Minister for future support in Bunbury.

10.01.2022 I managed to get some kind words out of my friend Andrew recently. We've been mates for many years & though we have very different goals we're working on, the way we acheive them is very similar. Thank you for your support Andrew & Drea!

10.01.2022 Allison, Josef & all the wonderful people at WA iSports hold a very special place in my life. We spent some time together recently to catchup on what has been a few big years for their club building into stronger & more inclusive communities. Thank you for your support Allison & Josef!

06.01.2022 2020 in Review. What a year it has been! You will hear that phrase a bit, but for me I say it in a positive light, personally I feel good about the year that has been. Personal achievements for me this year include completing my local government training and assisting coaching the year 3/4 team at Carey Park FC through a shortened season, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Also we took any spare time available to start extensions on our home in Glen Iris, which we hope to be finishe...Continue reading

06.01.2022 The City of Bunbury will be one of many organisations choosing respect in support of a local initiative next week. Choose Respect Day in Bunbury is a conce...pt driven by Choose Respect Bunbury and been established to further engage and empower the community to develop a culture of respect. The emphasis on the day is for every individual to think about their own words, thoughts and actions throughout the day and to show some care and share some kindness. The date of Choose Respect Day (Wednesday 13 November) has been selected to coincide with World Kindness Day. As well as the City, local day care centres, aged care facilities and a number of local schools will also be participating in activities on the day as well as in excess of 20 businesses in the Bunbury CBD. Bunburys iconic Koombana Footbridge will be lit up in the Choose Respect colours of blue and yellow on Wednesday evening. Photos and messages can be posted to the Choose Respect Bunbury Facebook page and images tagged with #chooserespectday and #bekindbunbury on Instagram throughout the day.

05.01.2022 Looking forward to raising some money and awareness for those in need tomorrow with Bunbury Global Soup.

05.01.2022 As we approach the end of another school year, I want to take a moment to thank Grace Christian School, and all the amazing staff & teachers that make up, witho...ut reservation, the best school in Bunbury. In any organisation you can have alot of shiny things, but at the top of the list CULTURE IS ALWAYS KING. And money or time cant buy it! You have to produce it through decades of hard work (together) and forge it. Then follow it up with many more years of even harder work to preserve it. So to Hugo & all the amazing team of staff, teachers, assitants, board members, tutors, mums, dads, coaches, mentors, workers, contractors, musicians, artists, students & more, THANK YOU!! Have the most amazing break & Christmas Holidays with YOUR family. See more

02.01.2022 I had the privelege of delivering a talk recently with an audience that included the wonderful Mayor to the City of Wanneroo, Tracey Roberts. We had a great chat afterwards and captured this small clip of her encouragement in campaigning for Bunbury City Council. For the record, Wanneroo is the second largest, and the fastest growing LGA in the country. Tracey has a big job but remains positive and was very insightful to learn from.
