18.01.2022 You will immediately notice that the word "Paints" is suspiciously absent from the title of this video, and that is because THERE WILL BE NO PAINTING! In this new spin-off series, I will be talking about the history, materials and techniques of the paintings I have already recreated in previous Krista Paints a Masterpieces. Think of these as being companions to the main series, offering more juicy goss and insight into the original works. Or think of it as a way to maximise ...the amount of Krista you see and minimise the amount of painting. This first episode will tackle the first painting I recreated, Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer. I will be answering the questions: Who is the Girl? Why is she? When is she? HOW IS SHE?! I also thoroughly enjoyed my new swivel chair so do a lot of swivelling. SWIVELS!

18.01.2022 This fourth installment of KPaM takes us to the 15th Century and the very famous work of Leonardo Da Vinci, Lady with an Ermine (Ferret). Either these pictures are taking longer to paint, or I'm becoming more aware that people might be watching so I'm being more fastidious, or maybe it's because there was a wild animal involved so technically it's a double portrait, but this one took flipping ages to finish. I've been trying to mix things up in terms of what technical stuff... I discuss in these videos, so here we have a bit of talk about warm and cool skin tones, dry blending, creating fur textures and I finally get a definitive answer to the question "Why did no-one in the 15th Century have proper eyebrows?" 13.01.2022 OMG PEOPLE! This is it! The very best Krista Paints a Masterpiece so far! Strap on a stack helmet cause you're in for one seriously awesome ride and I very much care about your cranial safety! For my third episode and very first fan request, we're going to go all the way back in time to the 80s and the very excellent film Ghostbusters 2. For those of you who don't remember this brilliant cinematic treat in all its glory, the main villain of the piece is... A PAINTING! Becaus...e I am both incredibly brave and always keen to impress my fans, I have risked curses and eye zapping to recreate said evil painting for your viewing pleasure. 13.01.2022 How would anyone feel about me doing a live stream while I paint the next masterpiece? It will obviously be a lot slower than watching the videos but I'd be talking guff for a lot of it and would love the company.
