24.01.2022 Flow. I find myself floating around my home, blissfully content, present in everything I do. I feel love pulsating through my veins, giving me energy for everyone and everything. No task is too much. ... I smile, chuckling to myself. What a contrast to last week, where I felt sad, funky, flat. Everything felt hard. I didnt want to make, or cook, or leave my bed. Even verbalising my feelings to my closest people felt near impossible. Today, as I breeze through throwing mugs, I sit, and observe the thoughts that enter my brain. I curiously watch as I try to make sense of it all. Why am I feeling so good? If I can identify the variables, I can be sure to make this state of being last. I can ensure I wont go back to the funk, right? And then I remember. Ive been here before. Ive thought these thoughts, Ive felt this, many times. How human of me to think I can gain full control. I recognise there are so many factors that come into play that affect how Im feeling. Weather, my cycle, lockdown, to name a few. I have a conversation with the little girl inside, the one who always seems to be chasing pleasure, who stomps her foot when sadness show up on the doorstep. I remind her that life cant always be peachy, its not about maintaining the high, but rather giving permission to feel it all, to gracefully accept myself in all my states. I surrender, take myself to the outdoor bath to soak in all the goodness and then the universe sends @luce_richards to deliver me hot apple crumble, as a sign that Im on the right track. Ahhhh, life. Ya got me again. Beautiful sketch by @specklesofness

I’m so grateful for you and your many talents, it feels so special that you’ve been a part of this journey from the very beginning

23.01.2022 Respiration- the source of energy that lets us farm and dance and speak. The breath of plants gives life to animals and the breath of animals gives life to plants. My breath is your breath, your breath is mine. ... Its the great poem of give and take, of reciprocity that animates the world. Isnt that a story worth telling? Only when people understand the symbiotic relationships that sustain them can they become people of corn, capable of gratitude and reciprocity. Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass

22.01.2022 Lots of people have been in touch asking whether Ill have any mugs in stock for Fathers Day. Sadly I will not. I have a whole lot of bisqued mugs waiting to be glazed and fired, but I wont be able to do this until Vic stage 4 restrictions ease! I do however, have a handful of beautiful cups and tumblers available! They feel more Dad-ish to me anyway!

18.01.2022 The craft of making is an important part of the work I do. I seek to empower my clients by teaching them the age old crafts of the hands. Art is important for it commemorates the seasons of the soul, or a special or tragic event in the souls journey. ... Art is not just for oneself, not just a marker of ones own understanding. It is a map for those who follow after us. The craft of questions, the craft of stories, the craft of hands- all these are the making of something and that something is soul. Anytime we feed soul, it guarantees increase. -Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Women who run with the wolves Image via @genevievelutkin

17.01.2022 A huge part of my passion towards ceramics and weaving, lies in passing on these skills of slow craftsmanship and the benefits that working with our hands can have on our well being. When restrictions ease, Ill be offering 1:1 private wheel throwing and hand building lessons, as well as small group ceramics and weaving workshops. Its hard to know exactly how this year is going to pan out, but if you have an interest in getting involved, fingers crossed we should be good t...o go by November! Feel free to DM me and we can pencil in some time @_davidthai

16.01.2022 Feeling fine on this sunny Winters day! Ill be offering free standard shipping from today until Sunday 11pm AEST on all orders over $50! Enter code SUNSHINE at checkout to redeem. ... Happy shopping and wishing everyone a beautiful weekend

16.01.2022 All through our gliding journey, on this day as on so many others, a little song runs through my mind. I say song because it passes musically, but it is really just words, a thought that is neither strange nor complex. In fact, how strange it would be not to think it -- not to have such music inside one's head and body, on such an afternoon. ... What does it mean, say the words, that the earth is so beautiful? And what shall I do about it? What is the gift I should bring to the world? What is the life I should live? -Mary Oliver @specklesofness

15.01.2022 Ive had quite a few people reach out recently asking if I do commission work, and the answer is yes, I most certainly do! In fact most of my time is spent working on commissions, hence why my online store is often neglected If I am out of stock of a piece on my website, or you are looking for something specific, perhaps a set of bowls, mugs or cups, please dont hesitate to get in touch!

15.01.2022 Theres a baby brewing inside me! She aint human but she does have heart and soul, and Im praying shell be birthed before the end of 2020 Watch this space!

14.01.2022 As an enthusiastic young Phd, colonised by the arrogance of science, I had been fooling myself that I was the only teacher. The land is the real teacher. All we need as students is mindfulness. ... Paying attention is a form of reciprocity with the living world. Receiving the gifts with open eyes and open heart. My job was just to lead them into the presence, and ready them to hear. On that smoky afternoon, the mountains taught the students, and the students, taught the teacher. As I drove home that night, the students slept or studied by dimlight. That Sunday afternoon changed forever my way of teaching. A teacher comes they say when youre ready, and if you ignore its presence, it will speak to you more loudly, but you have to be quiet, to hear. -Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass @lids_harper

14.01.2022 Psssst... A small number of unique, one off pieces have been added to my online store! A friend of mine was so kind as to help me fire some of my work during lockdown, and the result is a small range of completely new, unique pieces, resulting from a happy accident!... There is always something to learn through the process of testing, adjusting, trying something new... I have used the same clay, same glaze, but an (accidental) increase in temperature has resulted in a completely different effect! Many pieces are still hanging out in the kiln, stuck to the shelves but a handful of mugs, cups, vases and bowls survived and are looking for happy homes! Get in quick if they tickle your fancy, because they are one of a kind!

14.01.2022 Look and you shall find, beauty, everywhere.

13.01.2022 Good evening lovely people I have just uploaded some new work to my online store; lots of mugs in a range of shades, vases, serving dishes, incense plates and oil burners. This year has been such a beautiful teacher of patience, and boy does it feel good to finally have work completed, just in time for Christmas. ... Thank you for the ongoing love and support, it means the world to me

12.01.2022 Beauty in simplicity.

11.01.2022 Lovely people, I have just uploaded some new work to my online store. Lots of serving dishes, bowls, vases and precisely THREE mugs! This will be my last shop update until Victoria comes out of Stage 4 lockdown, as I dont currently have access to a kiln to glaze fire my work (The power in my home studio only allows my kiln to reach bisque temp). ... So for now, I surrender to what is, and spend this time making and bisqueing lots of work ready to fire post lockdown. Thank you for your patience, and ongoing support. This gal is so grateful for you all

11.01.2022 When things fall apart. Things falling apart is a kind of testing, and also a kind of healing. We think that the point is to pass the test, or to overcome the problem. But the truth is, that things dont really get solved. ... They come together, and they fall apart. Then they come together again, and they fall apart again. Its just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen. Room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy. Pema Chodron Image via @marta_blue

11.01.2022 Divine words by the most divine woman herself, @luce_richards/ @divinepostalservice. I sit here with tears flowing from me, for it means so much to be seen by you. To have shared a home with you, to know you, and you I, with such intimacy, truly fills my heart with so much love. ... Thank you for understanding my constant conflict with pace, and for being my number 1 fan, cheering me on to find my most authentic beat. 09.01.2022 Sometimes, in order to bring a woman closer to her wild nature, I ask her to keep a garden. Let it represent the wild psyche. The garden is a concrete connection to life and death. You could even say there is a religion of garden, for it teaches profound psychological and spiritual lessons. ... Whatever can happen to a garden can happen to soul and psyche- too much water, too little water, infestations, heat, storm, flood, invasion, miracles, dying back, coming back, boon, healing, blossoming, bounty, beauty. During the life of the garden, women keep a diary, recording the signs of life-giving and life-taking. In the garden we practice letting thoughts, ideas, preferences, desires, even loves, both live and die. We plant, we pull, we bury. We dry seed, sow it, moisten it, support it, harvest. The garden is a meditation practice, that of seeing when it is time for something to die. In the garden one can see the time coming for both fruition and for dying back. Through this meditation, we acknowledge that the life/death/life cycle is a natural one. In this process, we become like the cyclical wild. We have the ability to infuse energy and strengthen life, and to stand out of the way of what dies Clarissa Pinkola Estes- Women who run with the wolves Image via @hanakotherapies

09.01.2022 To choose love, is my intention. Full, deep, unapologetic love. To dive right in, to all of it. On good days and sad days, in all of the ways, I choose love. ... As I wake up and greet myself, as I tend to my garden, as I cook and make and move through my day, I choose to do so, lovingly. I choose to love courageously, vulnerably, tenderly. I choose to love wildly. I’ll let you know how I’m feeling, giving you permission to do the same, knowing this is the most direct way to authentic connection. My intention is not to predict what this year will hold, but to trust, deeply, in the lessons I will learn. I choose love. 09.01.2022 Hello beautiful people...happy first day of December! It’s been a wild year, and I couldn’t be more excited to close the year with a handful of my favourite markets. I’ll be frolicking at these markets in the lead up to Christmas, starting with The Valley Twilight Market this Friday from 3.30pm in Warburton. ... All details can be found in the ‘Markets’ section on my website. I’m so looking forward to meeting and connecting with familiar and new faces! Love to you all

08.01.2022 Every day do something that grounds you. Walk barefoot on the earth or just sit quietly and listen to your breath. Dont allow this time to be taken from you and do not give it away. ... 06.01.2022 One of my all time favs. To throw, and to look at

06.01.2022 Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the creative process. During the lockdown, I could feel in myself that I was feeling a bit stuck. Not being able to fire my work, having all of my sales outlets removed (bar online), unable to teach or run workshops, I could feel in my body, that my energy levels, my motivation to make, the light inside me, were all diminished. ... But I don’t think it was really until restrictions eased, since I’ve been able to fire my work, to hold the finished product in my hands, and to be back at markets, connecting with the beautiful people that will take my pieces home and love them until the end of time, that I realised how much of a funk I had been in. It reminded me that making really is just one step in the creative process, that we must go through all the steps, from conception to completion, to feel a sense of true fulfillment in our work. I see now, that those feelings of being witnessed, nurtured and validated, are all an integral part of the process, that keeps my creative river flowing. Being with real people who warm us, who endorse and exalt our creativity, is essential to the flow of creative life. Nurture is a chorus of voices both from within and without that notices the state of a woman’s being, takes care to encourage it, and if necessary, gives comfort as well. @clarissapinkolaestes

04.01.2022 It never ceases to amaze me, creativity. What flows from peoples minds, and hearts, and hands. An expression of what lies within us. ... The truth of all of our experiences, all of our feelings, expressed, birthed into the world, for others to interpret, in their own unique way. And in the process, creativity helps us to find ourselves. Providing time and space, to reflect, to learn, to love. Thank you for your inspiring work @adrianameunie_textilework.

03.01.2022 Having your hands busy tends to free up your mind Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass. This year has been challenging for all, and I hope to be able to share with anyone who wants to learn, the meditative practice of coil weaving. Since I havent been able to run weaving circles during this time, Ive decided to put together a weaving kit for anyone looking to learn from the comfort of their own home. ... Each Weaving Kit includes: -1 Embroidery Needle -1 Bundle Natural Raffia -4 Bundles of Raffia, hand dyed with natural dyes made from eucalyptus leaves, red onion skins + iron, desert willow + copper, and beetroot juice. -Instructional PDF -Instructional 30 minute Video $10 from each Weaving Kit will be donated to the Arnhem Weavers Group and their community. The Arnhem Weavers Group was established in 2003 by two elders, (Yolngu women from a remote community named Mäpuru), as a cultural and economic enterprise, passing on traditional textile skills to Balanda (white people), as well as enabling the community to be self-sustainable and remain on their ancestral lands. Money raised through weaving kits/circles is being used to build a new washing shelter and food preparation area in the Mäpuru community. Happy weaving beautiful people

02.01.2022 Some say the creative life is in ideas, some say it is doing. It seems in most instances to be in a simple being. It is the love of something, having so much love for something - whether a person, a word, an image, an idea, the land, or humanity - that all that can be done with the overflow is to create. It is not a matter of wanting to, not a singular act of will; one solely must. Once that great underground river finds its estuaries and branches in our psyches, our cre...ative lives fill and empty, rise and fall in seasons just like a wild river. These cycles cause things to be made, fed, fall back and die away, all in their own right time, and over and over again. Creating one thing at a certain point in the river feeds those who come to the river, feeds creatures far downstream, yet others in the deep. Creativity is not a solitary movement. That is the power. Whatever is touched by it, whoever hears it, sees it, senses it, knows it, is fed. That is why beholding someone’s else’s creative word, image, idea, fills us up, inspires us to our own creative work. A single creative act has the potential to feed a continent. One creative act can cause a torrent to break through stone. @clarissapinkolaestes Image via @hanakotherapies

01.01.2022 It is my belief that working with our hands is valuable. Connecting with tools to create things offers us a compensation that no electronic calculus can bring. The cacophony that is the Internet keeps us distracted, impatient, anonymous, and searching, but rarely satisfied. Seeing the results of our labour may only be an attempt to create something that feels solid in a world of impermanence, but this kind of progress means something to me in a day. Perhaps to you as well -Gaynor Strachan Chun Image via @softpractice
